Excalibur | Ice and Fire | Tabla's Dragons Retexture.
This started as a fun retexture of the dragon textures from "Excalibur | Ice and Fire" for my friend and I by making the different dragons in the mod unique in their own ways! Each of the 12 dragon textures has a design theme to match with their element, growth stage and other minecraft related things as well!
The purpose of this resourcepack is that dragons can be visually stunning, that you can identify between male and female (Useful for egg hunting) and be able to tell what stage the dragon you are looking at is.
This resourcepack works more immersively when used with Excalibur and Excalibur | Ice and fire | but does not directly require them.
Here for example you can see the red fire dragon! They are colured to match the nether blocks and as such have netherite textures in their horns >:D. This is a stage 3 female dragon in the picture, you can tell it's a female because it has no magma textures in her wings unlike males. In the final stages, the red dragon becomes more vibrant and darker.
All dragons have a very identifiable difference for each of their stages but not big enough to make them too obvious, the same happens with male and female! In the case of the red dragons for example, their backs have almost black stripes running along the body and a faint red line going across the middle of their underside when they are stage 5. In general, the wings of the males will be more dazzling and dapper than those of the females, so watch out for those wings dragon hunters.
Spoilers from here!
The Fire Dragons!
Green Fire Dragon.
I gave the green dragon the nickname "Overgrown" because of how it looks. This fire dragon has the main theme of the Lush Caves' greens and Azalea flowers! The stage 5 green dragon is distinguished best by the azalea flowers growing on its back and the males, like the stage 4 one in the picture, have their wings completely covered in flowering azalea growth. As they grow older, their underside becomes pinker and more lush grows on their backs. Tip: Stage 4 dragons have a noticeable lush on their body, keep an eye out for that.
Grey Fire Dragon.
Lovingly nicknamed this one "Gilded" fire dragon because of its wonderful golden horns and wings. The main theme behind this one is fairly simple, Fire Dragons are tied to gold! And because there isn't a gold dragon, the grey dragon would work just fine. With ashy scales and golden lining in their horns, claws and wing membranes. Males have golden leopard markings in their wings and females have plain gold in their final stage.
The image here shows you a stage 4 male inside his den with some lighting to help see him, because these guys camouflage very well inside their dens!
Bronze Fire Dragon.
The Bronze dragon, similar to the green and red ones, was given a biome change but in a more desolate way. The Bronze dragon became the Desert Fire Dragon or "Rattlesnake" as I called it when making it. This one is rather similar to what the original Excalibur texture looked like but with a few more tweaks. Now, this dragon looks like it rightfully belongs in the desert biomes. The main features it has are the tattered wings and the rattlesnake back that runs down its body from neck to tail.
The image here shows a stage 5 female Bronze dragon, males will have a wonderful cheetah pattern on their wings which, when combined with the patterns on its body, will make them look like real sand wraiths of the desert.
The Ice Dragons.
Blue Ice Dragon.
The Blue Ice dragon follows a similar biome themed design like the previous Fire Dragons, only that in this case, this dragon is best fitted in biomes with large concentrations of ice. To make the design more appealing, certain areas like the wings, head and tail eventually show a lilac gradient so as to 'Break with the ice'. In Stage 5, for example, the dragons' tails are lilac and slowly shift to blue as it gets closer to the back. Males have snowflakes in all of their wings' area, it is important to mention this because females have snowflakes at the END of their wings only. The Dragon in the image is a stage 4 female blue ice dragon swimming under the water.
White Ice Dragon.
For all of you who enjoy a pure white, no colours, or the likes, I'm sorry to tell you this is not the case. The White dragon I made has some accents of blue and pink in certain areas so that the texture doesn't become more of an eyesore than it already is at broad daylight. There are details made with teal as it grows older and to some, it may look more like a spotted white dragon than a pure white dragon. In the image, you can clearly see the teal spots on the wings that indicate this is a stage 3 male dragon.
Silver Ice Dragon.
Made purely from the metal and with the hopes it looks metallic enough, the silver dragon is the one with the simplest design philosophy. Silver dragons have a dark underside and get progressively darker as they age. The silver dragon and the white dragon are only roughly similar, as this one doesn't have colours and instead has values of grays to dark gray. These dark areas can help you identify in what stage it is, as seen here in the image the dark underbelly is highly noticeable. This dragon in the image is a stage 5 male Silver dragon.
Sapphire Ice Dragon.
A gorgeous dark scaled dragon. The Sapphire Ice dragon is an elegant dragon with the themes of the original mod's gemstone all around it. In earlier stages, it starts off gray and dull and becomes much more vibrant as the sapphires on its wings and back grow more noticeable. Like previous Ice dragons, both male and female have details on their wings, but the male sapphire dragon has their entire wings covered in gems. In the image, you can see such example, a stage 5 male sapphire dragon.
The Lightning Dragons.
Electric Blue Dragon.
Introducing the Lighting dragons, the Electric blue dragon has both of the colours characteristics of storms: Blue and Violet. The main theme of this dragon is representing a storm at dusk, portraying the colours of the stormy sunset at its fully grown stage. This dragon presents a roughly similar design that the original "Excalibur | Ice and Fire" resourcepack in the earlier stages, but slowly builds up those dazzling colours. Males of these species have white lightning in their wings while the females have an empty striped fan wing pattern.
Amethyst Lightning Dragon.
Glamorous and very regal looking, the Amethyst Lighting dragon now looks like it came out of a geode! The main theme for this dragon is very obvious: To look like an amethyst geode. The dragon's amethysts will become more and more visible as it grows. Similar to the other gemstone themed dragon, the sapphire ice dragon, both genders will present gems in their wings. With males presenting more gems all through their wings. The dragon in the image is a stage 4 male amethyst dragon, however his wings aren't really visible inside the geode.
Copper Lightning Dragon.
A very bright and saturated dragon. The main theme for the Copper dragon is simple, to show its stage all the same as how copper does in minecraft: Aging and turning more green. However, because the copper dragon can't be completely green at stage 5, it instead shows the oxidation through its horns and wings. Males have colourful oxidised green wings and the females have slight oxidation at the end of their wings. As seen in the image, this is a stage 5 male copper dragon inside his den.
Black Lightning Dragon.
A personal favourite, the black dragon now takes to the starry skies unnoticed. The design theme behind this dragon is linked to the nocturnal habits of the lightning dragons and taking it a next step further. The older the Black dragon grows, the more stars and darker it will become. In the image, if you can see it ;), a stage 5 female black dragon is flying.
Updates:
1. Egg Update!
Now eggs and dragons match each of the different species and their different colours! This is a nitpicky update, yet I hope that if you enjoy the models of dragons, you also get to enjoy the new egg textures for both models and icons!

2. Stripes and horns update >:)
In this update, I changed how the wings of the male amethyst dragon looks like! Before it was quite hard to tell them apart, now they are easier to tell who is who! The image below shows a male and female in flight (New male on the left and the female on the right)

Then the dragon horns! This is much more of a personal pick, however, I wanted the horns to be distinct from one another, specially for those who have eye problems.

In works: Dragon Armour Update.
Now with a new sneak peek!
