Spooky Jams

Requires the library mod Collective.

Spooky Jams is my 2025 entry for SpookyJam, an annual Minecraft mod jam. While the naming is deliberately intended as a pun, it adds actual "spooky" jams which when consumed give the player various potion effects. It also adds the Spooky Yam crop. Which can be turned into a Spooky Yam Jam!

All jams can be shapelessly crafted. The base ingredients are a glass jar and sugar. Each jam has two unique ingredients that make up its colour and effects. See the list below for the complete list of jams and their ingredients.

To get started craft some glass jars!



Configurable: ( how do I configure? )
jamConsumeEffectsModifier (default = 1.0, min 0.0, max 1000.0): Can be used to decrease or increase the effects given when a player consumes a Spooky Jam.

Creeper’s Delight Jam
Sweet and volatile. Gone before you know it.
Ingredients: Gunpowder, Ender Eye, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Speed (90s), Invisibility (20s), Resistance (20s), Absorption (60s)

Enderman’s Essence Jam
As you stare into the jar, the liquid stirs.
Ingredients: Ender Pearl, Sweet Berries, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Invisibility (120s), Night Vision (120s), Slow Falling (30s), Speed (60s)

Ghast’s Whisper Jam
A soft wail echoes when the lid is opened.
Ingredients: Ghast Tear, Snowball, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Slow Falling (120s), Fire Resistance (60s), Regeneration (40s), Absorption (60s)

Glimmering Gloom Jam
A faint glow within the jar. Sweet, yet unsettlingly cold to the touch.
Ingredients: Sweet Berries, Glow Ink Sac, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Night Vision (300s), Water Breathing (120s), Glowing (20s), Slowness (10s)

Guardian’s Brine Jam
Salty and cold, like the deep ocean’s embrace.
Ingredients: Prismarine Crystals, Kelp, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Conduit Power (180s), Dolphin’s Grace (30s), Night Vision (60s), Slowness (5s)

Phantom’s Veil Jam
The taste of the night sky, weightless and watchful.
Ingredients: Phantom Membrane, Feather, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Slow Falling (300s), Night Vision (300s), Jump Boost (60s), Invisibility (20s)

Slime’s Squish Jam
Chewy and bouncy, yet strangely refreshing.
Ingredients: Slime Ball, Apple, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Jump Boost (300s), Absorption (60s), Slow Falling (15s), Slowness (8s)

Spider’s Silk Jam
Threads of sweetness, woven with venom.
Ingredients: Spider Eye, String, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Speed (120s), Jump Boost (90s), Slow Falling (20s), Poison (4s)

Spooky Yam Jam
An earthy taste, infused with faint spectral energy.
Ingredients: Spooky Yam, Pumpkin, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Health Boost (120s), Regeneration (30s), Resistance (30s), Glowing (6s)

Witch’s Hex Jam
The contents shimmer, a taste both cursed and kind.
Ingredients: Fermented Spider Eye, Red Mushroom, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Luck (180s), Regeneration (20s), Resistance (15s), Unluck (6s)

Wither’s Rot Jam
Its bitter strength burns, with every heartbeat.
Ingredients: Wither Rose, Coal, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Strength (180s), Health Boost (120s), Resistance (20s), Wither (5s)

Zombie’s Hunger Jam
It fills you with strength, and endless craving.
Ingredients: Rotten Flesh, Beetroot, Sugar, Glass Jar
Effects: Strength (180s), Health Boost (120s), Regeneration (15s), Hunger (90s)

You may freely use this mod in any modpack, as long as the download remains hosted within the CurseForge ecosystem.
