Description

Really simple and straightforward mod to make adventuring a bit more exciting. This mod is for my family server, pairing with Zombie Awareness and Infernal Mobs. We use Lithosphere or Tectonic/Terralith with Distant Horizons so we have large landscapes to traverse after seeing a POI. Sleeping at night just makes the game too easy.

A possible horde spawning is exciting! Is it still easy? Sure, it can. But paired with Zombie Awareness and Infernal Mobs it can be really challenging. I configured the Infernal Mobs mod on our server to have a roughly 5% chance to spawn an "elite". This means that about every 1-3 hordes (depending on size) there will be at least one "elite" zombie. It may spawn with the ability to shoot cobwebs at your feet. Or throw you in the air! Or hit with you lightning!

So while this mod alone adds a simple new mechanic, I would suggest getting Zombie Awareness and Infernal Mobs as well.

To configure this mod, you will need to use the in-game /gamerule hordes:.

Below are the possible gamerule options you have:

#  Determines whether the mod is active or not
active

# Max size of the horde, 1-100
max_size

# The minimum distance the horde will spawn from the player
min_distance

# Minimum size of the horde, 1-100
min_size

# Can hordes also spawn at night?
night_spawn

# Percent chance between 1-100 that a horde will spawn
spawn_chance

# How many ticks to roll a horde
spawn_rate

Take note that a random number for the minimum and maximum horde size will be selected. If you have a minimum of 1 and maximum of 10, you will get something between these values.

In multiplayer a random player will be targeted. Hordes will despawn when 128 blocks away.

I do plan to have a config file and the option of added in any mob, even from mods.
