# Netherless **Netherless** is a vanilla-style Fabric mod that makes Minecraft progression possible without entering the Nether. The Nether is normally disabled, but its resources are not gone. Instead, Nether-related progression is moved into the Overworld and End through harder recipes, loot changes, structures, and exploration. This mod is made for players who want a survival challenge where they can still access important Nether resources without actually using the Nether. ## Versions Netherless has two versions: ### Netherless Download the normal version if you want the full Netherless challenge. In this version: * Nether portals are disabled automatically. * Players cannot enter the Nether through portals. * Nether resources are obtained through Overworld and End progression instead. ### Netherless [WITH Nether] Download **Netherless [WITH Nether]** if you want the Netherless recipes, loot changes, structures, and advancements, but still want to allow Nether access. In this version: * Nether portals are allowed. * Players can still enter the Nether normally. * The Netherless progression changes remain available. * This version is better for players who want the extra recipes and loot changes without fully banning the Nether. If you want a no-Nether survival challenge, download the normal version. If you want Netherless features while keeping the Nether enabled, download **Netherless [WITH Nether]**. ## Main Features * Nether access through portals is automatically disabled in the normal version. * The **WITH Nether** version allows Nether access. * Blaze Rods can be crafted through Overworld progression. * Nether Wart can be obtained from witches. * Wither Skeleton Skulls can be found rarely in Ancient Cities and Ominous Vaults. * Netherite Scrap can be found rarely in End City treasure. * Netherite Upgrade Templates can be crafted with a harder custom recipe. * Barter Ruins naturally generate in the Overworld. * Piglins in Barter Ruins do not zombify. * Many Nether blocks can be crafted using vanilla-style recipes. * Custom Netherless advancements are included. ## Nether Access In the normal version of Netherless, entering the Nether through portals is automatically disabled. Players do not need to manually set a gamerule. If you want to keep Nether access enabled, use **Netherless [WITH Nether]** instead. ## Structures ### Barter Ruins Barter Ruins are Overworld piglin ruins inspired by Bastion-style progression, but smaller and harder to rely on. They can contain: * Piglins that do not zombify * A Piglin Brute * Blackstone-style blocks * Gilded Blackstone * Gold blocks These ruins are meant to give players access to piglin/bartering-style progression without entering the Nether. ## Loot Changes ### Witches Witches can drop Nether Wart. This replaces Nether Wart progression from Nether Fortresses and keeps brewing tied to potion-related mobs. ### Ancient Cities Ancient City chests have a rare chance to contain Wither Skeleton Skulls. ### Ominous Vaults Ominous Vaults have a rare chance to contain Wither Skeleton Skulls. ### End Cities End City treasure has a rare chance to contain Netherite Scrap. Instead, players craft Crimson Fungus or Warped Fungus, craft the matching Nylium, and then use Bone Meal to grow the huge fungus naturally.
