Description

Features

This datapack enhances Ancient City exploration by introducing a powerful new relic and epic, unbreakable rewards — if you’re willing to gamble for them.

New Item: Silence Relic

  • Dropped by Warden.
  • Used to upgrade diamond and netherite tools into Silent Tools.

New Ancient Tools: Can be found in an ancient city loot chest with a small chance.

Silence Relic

Now, upon death, the Warden drops a new Silence Relic.

The Silence Relic can be applied to any diamond or netherite tool (Pickaxe, Axe, Hoe, Shovel).
Silent Tools let you break blocks without triggering Sculk Sensors or nearby Wardens, making it easier to explore Ancient Cities.

You can upgrade tools on the Smithing Table using the Silence Relic and the Echo Shard.

Due to limitations of custom crafting, Silent Tools cannot be detected in recipes.
This means you can accidentally apply the Silence Relic to an already upgraded tool!

Ancient Tools

This enhancement comes with a new set of unbreakable, fireproof tools!

If you like taking risks or are just brave enough to step through the deep dark, luckily for you, loot chests now have a 1% chance of containing any new ancient tool.

All have the strength of diamond tools and come with the abilities of netherite.

Ancient Tools do not spawn with the Silence Relic applied and can be upgraded manually.

Compatability

Datapack was made as a Vanilla+ enhancement and should work with other datapacks.

Currently resource pack is completely optional, but it might change in the future.

Performance Note

The silencing effect only works in the Deep Dark biome. This is intentional and helps keep performance stable.

This datapack uses terrain scanning, which can be demanding in unexplored areas. However, it is designed to run smoothly for small groups — up to 9 players exploring the Deep Dark at the same time should not experience noticeable issues.

In more extreme situations, such as more than 20 players raiding separate Ancient Cities simultaneously, performance may drop, and the game could hit command execution limits.
These cases are unlikely during normal survival gameplay.

Running multiple datapacks, especially heavier ones, can also increase the chance of hitting execution limits. Server owners can adjust the command execution limit using the game rule below.

/gamerule max_command_sequence_length <limit>
