What is Aspen?

Aspen is a content mod that focuses on botanical, mycological, and generally more naturally reverent content. It receives updates the same way a live service game does, with larger updates consisting of a theme. In between larger updates, smaller ones referred to as "ruminations" fill the space. Aspen is its own beast. It is constantly blossoming into its own standalone experience where few mods are needed to complement it.

What was the latest update?  

The latest update was "Rumination 1". It includes some texture redos in the biome, as well as new mobs, features, bug fixes, and more. Ruminations are essential for filling out the world with ideas that didn't make it in before time or scope creep set in. Sometimes, even though ruminations may be smaller content-wise, the changes they bring may be considerable. In this one, the entire Aspen Forest has been totally revamped.

A patch is now available for this version, but another patch will likely come out at some point to fix some things. This patch didn't fix everythig, but was needed to enjoy the game to its fullest.
