Description

Locking a Large Chest

✨ Context

This mod simply allows to use Trial Keys and Ominous Trial Keys to lock blocks and entities.
By default on: Doors, Trapdoors, Fence Gates, Barrels and all Chests variants including Boats and Minecart.

🗝️ FEATURES

🔒 Locking

- Trial Keys on any lockable block will prevent interaction with it.
Chests will no longer open (protecting their inventory), neither will doors.

- Ominous Trial Keys will still allow the Owner (the Player who used it) to interact with the block, without needing the key.
This means they can even destroy the key and have exclusive access to a Chest or Trapdoor.

- With either Key, the block becomes unminable by both players and mobs.
Villagers and Zombies cannot break locked doors. This truly protects your build and adds lore!

- Keys will be given a unique ID upon first use, similar to vanilla maps.
The Id only exists for tracking and helping players sort their keys.

- Keys will also be automatically renamed based on their bound block, most languages are supported!
Even better: you can still rename the keys at any moment and your custom name will have priority over the automatic rename.

🔓 Unlocking

- Using the same key on the bound block will unlock it.
- The key will lose its autoname but will retain its ID and custom name.

⚡ Redstone

- Dispensers can use Keys to lock blocks.
Use your imagination to create automated locking systems or more :)

- Locked blocks and entities will NOT react to Redstone!
That means buttons will not be able to open doors, hoppers will not pass items down to a locked chest etc.

- Copper Golems will ignore locked chests.
Again, allows complex automation using dispensers and hoppers.

💥 Removal

- Locked Blocks are unbreakable / unmineable. This means the only way to remove them is:

1) Unlocking with the unique key
2) An explosion (TNT, Creeper...)
3) Creative mode
This choice was made so locked blocks are not overpowered, while still offering advantages at low risk.

The following blocks and entities are lockable:

  • Doors
  • Trapdoors
  • Fence Gates
  • Chests
  • Copper Chests variants
  • Barrels
  • Minecart with Chest
  • Boats with Chest
  • Cabinets (Farmers Delight)

Note: Double Doors and Trapdoors will be locked together!
