Description

"Millager — a portmanteau of militia and villager — refers to the armed defenders who stand between a village and everything that wants to burn it down."

Millager arms the villager side of Minecraft with a standing military — specialised infantry, mounted cavalry, summoners, and constructs — complete with AI formation patrols, dynamic raid reinforcement waves, and garrisoned Command Posts scattered across the world. If you've ever felt that villagers die too easily during raids, this mod is the answer.

⚔️ Military Units

Seven new NPC unit types join the villager faction. All are fully autonomous with custom AI goals, custom sounds, and unique combat roles:

  • Archer — ranged unit; crafts and fires arrows, picks up special arrows to enhance itself.

  • Lancer — mounted cavalry; charges enemies on horseback and unleashes a powerful healing aura over allies.

  • Scouter — mounted ranged unit; fires high-damage firework rockets from horseback, and sounds the reinforcement horn to herald the arrival of allies.

  • Swordmaster — elite duelist wielding twin swords; parries incoming attacks with crossed blades, its off-hand blade bears a death-substituting curse.

  • Mauler — heavy brawler; swings a Mace to deal burst area damage, and repairs its own equipment between fights.

  • Rioter — aggressive frontliner and grenadier; taunts enemies to draw aggro, and hurls TNT on a Stick and Molotov Cocktails into enemy clusters.

  • Doctor — summoner; constructs and deploys powerful golems onto the battlefield, drinking potions in a crisis to cling to a sliver of hope.

🐝 Bee Golem

A wax-and-glass construct that can be deployed by Golem Amber, functioning as a self-guided kamikaze drone — it locks onto a target and detonates on contact. After a period of time, it reverts to Golem Amber. Has unique glass-break and wax-crack sound effects.

🏰 Command Post Structure

A new naturally-generated military outpost that spawns in the world, garrisoned by Millager units — and at its heart, a Commander. A ruined variant also generates, hinting at a history of conflict. The Commander is a new villager profession tied to the Sand Table workstation block, dealing in intelligence, explosives, and high-value goods — a trader worth seeking out.

🛡️ Raid Defense & Patrol Systems

  • Raid Reinforcements — when a raid begins, nearby Millager patrols mobilise in waves to defend. Reinforcement scaling, entity pool weights, and a dedicated boss bar are all included. Controlled by the millager:raid_defenses game rule.

  • Formation Patrols — infantry and cavalry roam the wilderness on independent timers, ever-present beyond the village border, detecting and engaging threats wherever they wander. Controlled by the millager:spawn_millager_patrols game rule.

🧪 Items & Consumables

Explosives

  • Explosive Arrow — a fired arrow that detonates on impact.

  • TNT on a Stick — exactly what it sounds like. A throwable TNT contraption.

  • Molotov Cocktail — thrown incendiary grenade that instantly ignites a wide area on impact. If the directly struck block is of low hardness, it is converted into Enduring Fire.

  • Molotov Cocktail Plus (Uncommon) — an enhanced variant with greater instant damage and a larger ignition radius.

Healing & Support

  • Totem of Healing (Uncommon) — continuously heals its carrier. Each heal has a small chance to damage the totem; after three such damage events it shatters completely.

  • Elixir (Rare) — a powerful drinkable consumable. Made from nine different flowers, it can greatly unlock the drinker's potential. Millagers are always on the hunt for its ingredients.

  • Liquor — brewing Liquor is a cost-effective way to utilize surplus grain, and it is an indispensable ingredient in crafting Molotov Cocktails.

  • Golem Amber (Uncommon) — used to summon the Bee Golem.

Potion: Ascension

A new potion brewed from an Awkward Potion with a Torchflower. Applies Levitation, Slow Falling, Invisibility, and Regeneration II simultaneously — useful for field retreats or surprise assaults. A Long Ascension variant is brewed by adding Redstone. Available in all standard potion forms (drinkable, splash, lingering, tipped arrow).

🧱 Blocks

  • Sand Table — workstation block for the Commander profession.

  • Totem Infuser — transfers the death-substituting curse from a Totem of Undying onto any item of your choice; emits light level 12.

  • Villager Head / Illager Head — decorative skull blocks, wearable in the helmet slot. Dropped when a Villager or Illager is killed by a charged creeper explosion.

  • Enduring Fire — fire that burns free-standing, without needing a surface beneath it; extinguishes naturally after a set duration.

🎨 Cosmetics & Misc

  • Villager Banner Pattern — a unique banner pattern item.
  • Cocktail Tutorial Painting — a custom painting variant.
