Pristeel is a new alloy, made from Prismarine and Iron.
Tools, Weapons and Armor can be crafted from Pristeel, and most are almost as good its Diamond equivalents, but with more Enchantability.

Pristeel Items and their Enchanted versions:

Pristeel uses Mechanics for its crafting recipe, so it is listed as a required dependency.
However, if you really need to remove it, Pristeel will work without it.
