- The Fabric version of Flingshot requires Fabric API

About 5 years after the Caves and Cliffs update introduced Copper as a new mineral, I have come back to Minecraft and noticed how Mojang has barely added any interesting uses for this new ore. That's when I came up with the idea of porting part of an old mod I made, Earthbounds, into a standalone expansion introducing a new, vanilla friendly weapon: The Flingshot

The Flingshot's objective is to finally give a clear purpose to this underwhelming ore, while adding a new interesting twist to combat, have it be in PvE or PvP. The Flingshot is an early to late game mid - long range weapon, which uses Bucks as its primary ammunition. To use it, simply hold a buck in one hand, the Flingshot in the other, and use it like you would a Bow!

Features

Flingshot
- Copper Buck: Basic ammunition for the Flingshot
- Obsidian Disc: PvP alternative to Copper Bucks, effective against armored targets. Disables shields on hit!
- Frost Blast: Crowd control buck, damages and freezes enemies in an area upon landing.
- Glimmer Goo: Utility buck, places Glimmer Goo Splat upon hitting a block.
- Shimmer Shell: Premium buck, does very high damage in an area. Careful not to hurt yourself!
- Fire Charge: Sets enemies or blocks hit ablaze
Glimmer Goo Splat
- Multiface block similar to Glow Lichen, found in dripstone caves in patches of 12 / 36
- Emits a modest amount of light
- Has slippery properties when placed on the ground, similarly to ice
Five Enchantments unique to the Flingshot
- Precision I-V: Heavily improves the Flingshot's accuracy.
- Force I-III: Increases the range which Bucks can be flung. Incompatible with Agility.
- Agility I-III: Reduces the movement slowdown while loading the Flingshot.
- Automation I: Allows the Flingshot to fire automatically when fully drawn
- Versatility I: Allows the Flingshot to fling item drops

The Flinger's Lifestyle

The Flingshot isn't the easiest weapon to craft, requiring 3 Copper Ingots, 1 Amethyst Shard, 2 Strings and 1 Rabbit Hide.

It's got a durability of 285, which is about 30% less compared to a Bow - getting Unbreaking III on this is definitely recommended.

By default, this weapon is highly inaccurate. This is to balance its potential damage output earlier in the game. In the mid to late game, this weapon can evolve into one of three playstyles, based on which enchantments you pick.

The Skirmisher

The Agility enchantment allows you to move extremely swiftly while shooting. Combined with Automation, the Flingshot starts to feel like a machine gun!

The Sniper

The Force enchantment allows the Flingshot to become nearly as effective as a bow at long ranges. Combined with Shimmer Shells, you can bombard hard to kill monsters or players from afar.

The... Tosser?

Versatility is a very strange enchantment, as it turns the Flingshot into a utility item more than anything. It simply allows you to toss any item stack, which combined with Force III, can come in handy to pass items from player to player from afar. Or I suppose you can play ball with your friends? Up to you!

Configurable parameters

To ensure a positive experience to as many players as possible (And compatibility with modpacks and in servers), I have made some aspects of the mod configurable. Below is what you're able to tweak yourself!
