Dimension Notifier

Dimension Notifier makes dimension travel easier to follow on Minecraft Java servers. Players can get a quick action bar alert when they enter another dimension, the server can broadcast dimension changes in chat, and the vanilla Tab list can show where everyone is.

This is a server-first Fabric mod. A dedicated server can run the shared features without requiring every player to install the mod. Installing it on the client adds personal action bar settings, Mod Menu controls, and singleplayer support.

What You Get

A clear alert when you change dimensions

A short action bar message confirms where you arrived without filling chat. Coordinates can stay hidden for a cleaner message, or be enabled when your group wants exact arrival points.

A simple server message when players move

Servers can broadcast a compact chat message when a player enters another dimension. This is useful for survival groups, events, and admin visibility when players spread across worlds.

A Tab list that shows where players are

Dimension labels make the vanilla Tab list easier to scan. Use full labels when clarity matters most, or compact labels when you want a tighter list. The server can also group players by dimension with a configurable sort order.

Mod Menu settings when you want them

With Mod Menu installed, players can adjust their own action bar alerts. In singleplayer, or on a server where the player has Operator permission, the Server Config screen also exposes the global dimension features.

Install Sides and Dependencies

• Dedicated server: required for broadcast dimension change messages, action bar alerts for players without the mod, Tab list dimension labels, and Tab list dimension sorting.
• Client: optional for personal action bar alerts, Client Config, Mod Menu settings, and singleplayer.
• Required dependency: Fabric API wherever this mod is installed.
• Optional dependency: Mod Menu on clients for Client Config and permission-gated Server Config.

Configuration Details

Dimension Notifier separates personal settings from global server behavior.

• Client Config controls your dimension action bar alerts on this computer.
• In multiplayer, Client Config never overwrites global Server Config.
• On servers running this mod, Client Config overrides the server action bar alert for that player only.
• Server Config controls global dimension features: broadcast dimension change messages, action bar alerts for players without the mod, Tab list dimension labels, Tab list dimension sorting, and dimension sort order.
• Turning off global dimension features stops server action bar alerts, broadcast dimension change messages, Tab list dimension labels, and Tab list dimension sorting.
• In singleplayer, Server Config edits global settings in the local config file.
• On remote servers, Server Config is editable only with Operator permission.

After first launch, edit:

File edits require a game or server restart. Mod Menu changes apply immediately where editable.
