What does the mod actually do?

A companion CoolPlayer303!

• She follows you around the world and fights mobs
• She picks up items from the ground (after a delay, and won't steal from near you)
• She gathers resources give her an axe and she'll chop trees, give her a pickaxe and she'll mine ores
• She has her own 24-slot inventory  rght-click her to open it
• You can equip her with armor and weapons through her inventory
• You can give her food to heal her and raise trust
• You can give her flowers  each unique flower gives a big trust boost
• You can set her to Stay / Follow mode
• You can ask her 50 different questions from a side panel in her GUI her answers change depending on how she feels about you

The Story 

The mod has a full 4-act storyline that unfolds as you play

This CurseForge version replaces ALL out-of-game actions with in-game equivalents:

• Camera shake instead of window shaking
• In-game BSOD screen instead of a real blue screen
• Fake terminal/CMD overlay instead of opening PowerShell
• Error window cascades rendered inside Minecraft
• Fake notepad with self-typing text
• Smiley drawing screen instead of opening Paint
• Erratic camera rotation instead of mouse movement hijacking
• Chat messages instead of creating desktop files
• Pre-recorded audio instead of text-to-speech
• Fake data scan results (Steam games, processes)  all generated, never real

The mod has a config file (inside_the_system-common.toml) or you can use /its config to open the in-game GUI.

You can customize:

• Quest timer speed (make quests faster or slower)
• Pain path timer speed
• Trust gain from food and flowers
• Enable/disable individual meta-horror effects (BSOD, camera shake, error windows, terminal, etc.)
• Enable/disable act titles
• Enable/disable game crash on bad endings
• Fine-tune all timing parameters for story events
