Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs

In 26.3, Mojang Studios officially added support for Wool Stairs and Wool Slabs inside of Minecraft. However, this leaves players on older versions stuck, as they are likely unable to update their entire modpacks or setups just to access such a simple feature. I created this mod, Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs, so you can enjoy modern Minecraft features like this one without the hassle of updating dozens or hundreds of mods. Which I know some people, like the ones with modpacks that have over a thousand mods, can be an extreme challenge or even impossible to update.

Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs aims to be as close to the vanilla experience as possible, offering the exact same content. All crafting recipes, dyeing, creative tab placements, and block models are designed to be identical to vanilla Minecraft. This also makes the mod incredibly flexible; since it uses vanilla textures, any resource packs that affect wool will automatically affect the wool stairs and slabs as well.

Update Support

Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs will aim to be updated for as many older versions as possible across Fabric, Quilt (Which Fabric mods natively support) NeoForge, and Forge. For now, development will focus on versions closer to 26.3, and updates will gradually work their way down over time to popular legacy versions such as 1.8.9.

There's a common misconception about versions, they will not be updated for older versions extremely fast. I cannot update for a ton of versions extremely fast. Please be patient.

(Please note that if you are using the Fabric version of the mod on Quilt, you will need the Quilted Fabric API mod.)

Compatibility Misconception

There seems to be a lot of misconception about the compatability of this mod with others. So this will try to clear it up a little bit.

Vanilla Resource Packs: This mod is completely compatable with normal resource packs, any resource pack that changes the wool texture will change the texture of the Wool Stairs and Wool Slabs.

Special Resource Packs: This mod is generally not compatable with special resource packs, such as Fusion and Continuity.

Other Mods: There seems to be a misunderstanding between "Compatable" and "Working together." This mod will likely work with any other mod you throw at it (depending on how the mods handle things), but other backport mods such as the popular Cushion Backport mod, will not directly work together. They will still load into the game and both mods will be usable, but you cannot use Wool Slabs from Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs to craft Cushions from Cushion Backport. Unless stated by the mod creator, this mod is not going to directly work with any other mods.

What do I do if the mod isn't working properly?

1. Check your modloader and Minecraft version. Make sure they match up and that you download the correct mod version.

2. If your modloader and Minecraft versions are correct, ensure you have the required Java versions installed and check for any conflicting mods.

3. If all else fails, you can contact me directly in the comments section on the CurseForge mod page. Providing your PC specs or specific error messages will help me troubleshoot.

Permissions/Licence/Disclaimers

You are allowed to:

• Use this mod in any modpacks, and modify it to fit your needs in said modpack (Credit is not needed, although it is appreciated.)

• Heavily modify this mod and republish for non-commerical use (You must credit the mod.)

• Make this mod compatable with yours (You must disclose the versions used and credit the mod. Commercial use allowed.)

• Fork the project to other Minecraft versions (Credit required, you cannot sell access to said forks.)

• Use this mod in social media videos/content creation, even for commercial use (Credit required.)

You are not allowed to:

• Republish this mod with no changes on any other platforms under your name or any others.

• Directly sell access to any modified version or unmodified version of this mod.

You must:

• Comply with Mojang's EULA.
