Overview
MineColonies: Transit Networks adds custom pathfinding options that allow your colonists to use Create transportation systems.
Ever wished your colonists could:
- Ride trains
- Use chain conveyors
- Travel via hypertubes
- Move through elevators and other contraptions?
Now they can, with Transit Nodes!
Dependencies
- NeoForge 1.21.1 or Forge 1.20.1
- MineColonies (latest)
- Create 0.6+ (latest)
Usage
š” This mod includes Create Ponders! Hold the Create Ponder key (W) while hovering over a Transit Node to see in-game tutorials.
Basics
- Adds one new block: the Transit Node
- Transit Nodes can only be placed within a Colony
- To bind a Transit Node:
- Hold it in your hand
- Right-click a target location (similar to Create Frogports)
- Place the node
- Link nodes together:
- Right-click the start node with a wrench
- Right-click the destination node with the wrench
- Colonists will now pathfind using Transit Nodes
- Colonists will wait at a node until they can board a valid contraption
- Boarding occurs automatically when a contraption with available seating arrives
- Colonists automatically disembark at the destination
Chain Transit Nodes
- Transit Nodes have special support for Chain Conveyors
- While holding a Transit Node, right-click a Chain Conveyor to target it
- Transit Nodes placed along connected Chain Conveyors will:
- Automatically detect each other
- Automatically form links
Train Transit Nodes
- Transit Nodes also support Train Stations
- While holding a Transit Node, right-click a Train Station to target it
- Transit Nodes targeting stations on the same track will automatically connect
- For train-based nodes:
- Colonists board automatically when a train with open seats arrives
- Colonists unboard automatically at their destination station
Frequencies & Boarding Control
For more advanced setups, Transit Nodes support Redstone Link Frequencies:
- Arrival Frequency
- Emits a signal while colonists are waiting at the node
- Boarding Frequency
- When a signal is received, colonists attempt to board
- Some transit types expose additional controls to fine-tune boarding behavior
š§ Tip: Set the Arrival and Boarding frequencies to the same value for instant boarding.
