Description
The Smiler
The Smiler is a mod mainly inspired by Mado's Knocker, and other player-like horror mods.
It always watches, and waits until you are most vulnerable to strike,
it knows how to counter many things that most mods cannot.
Of course there will be more added in the future.
Check the spoiler below if want to know what is added in the mod, or don't if you want a surprise.
Smiler Variants/Behaviours
Invisible, known in game as "Footsteps"
Footsteps is an invisible version of the Smiler, which only does one thing as of now
Run towards you, makes a sound, and despawns when close
The Watcher, known in game as "Smiler_1"
If a player gets too close to it,
there is a chance for it to start chasing,
and less commonly, jumpscare
The Smiler, known in game as "Smiler_2"
The Chase
Although it being unable to swim, it will still attempt to drown you if you go underwater,
while being drowned, your oxygen will deplete faster than usual, and you will be unable to place certain blocks to gain oxygen back.
It is killable, and will despawn if it's target player dies, or after some time.
If enabled in the config, it will attempt to bridge to it's target if it is over 2 blocks from the entity's current y position, to stop any pillaring attempts, it may be a little bit buggy, and get stuck in some situations.
The "Jumpscare", known in game as "Smiler_3"
Basically just teleports infront of you, and makes a noise,
thats it, trying to be a jumpscare.
The Intruder, known in game as "Smiler_4"
The Intruder will rarely spawn at a players spawnpoint at night,
It will summon the "Jumpscare" when there is a direct line of sight to it.
The Stalker, known in game as "Smiler_5"
The Stalker acts similarly to the watcher
If a player gets too close to it, it'll despawn
After some time, if the player doesn't approach it, it will begin to chase.
The Invader, known in game as "Smiler_6"
i'm running out of synonyms to call these
The Lurker has a small chance to spawn at the foot of your bed when you sleep and watch
The Lurker, known in game as "Smiler_7"
The Lurker acts similarly to Stalker, and Watcher.
This variant will NOT attack you, it stands at a far distance staring with it's hood up.
It holds a lantern and emits light from it.
The Miner, known in game as "Smiler_8"
The miner extremely rarely will spawn infront of you when you break a block under y=30.
If you break into a line of sight of it, you will get darkness and he will despawn shortly after,
this only acts as a small scare while caving, as Smiler's spawnrate is decreased underground.
Added Items
The Smiler's Machete
The Machete has a low chance of dropping if you manage to kill The Smiler, specifically the chase.
The Machete is a sword-like weapon which deals 11 damage, while slower than an axe, it also causes a bleeding debuff on any attacked mobs, which causes damage over time.
The Machete will likely drop with extremely low durability, you can fix this by repairing it with iron ingots at an anvil.
The Smiler's Hood
Not really an item needed to be added to this list, but I will anyways.
The Hood is worn by a couple of the watching variants of The Smiler,
it is unobtainable in survival, and simply acts as a visual hood for some Smiler variants.

an older version are considered "slop".
thank you for this video, troubled boys, as not only the video alone, but people replying to my comments with their ideas and feedback!
hopefully i have added enough in these recent updates to revoke the "bitch" status he's been given
also, final notice about this video, he did NOT experience all the features included in the mod, far from it, and now that i've added even MORE since then, yk, try it out
since a lot of people seem to believe this mod is a direct copy of the knocker, or the same mod entirely,
i have written a list of all the similarities and differences, if you believe the mod is the exact same, please do read
MASSIVE spoilers, as this basically tells EVERY FEATURE in the mod
these may not be ALL the differences/similarities, but it's a LOT of them:
Similarities:
Player model,
Weilds a weapon,
Chases/Kills you,
Watches you,
Jumpscares you,
Spawns at your bed,
Bridges on water.
Differences:
Bridges across powdered snow,
Force drowns it's target if they're in water,
Uses a bow,
Can pillar upwards/sideways towards target (if manually enabled in config),
Will jump if target is slightly out of it's attack reach so it can hit,
Causes entity it attacks to bleed,
Weapon it drops is ACTUALLY useful, which causes entities you hit to bleed, and is repairable with iron,
Breaks certain blocks WITH A COOLDOWN,
Attacks are blockable with shields,
Almost entirely configurable, Can kill animals,
Taunts the player if either smiler kills them or smiler kills their pet,
Can spawn in caves,
Can place blocks around the player (NOT like them click me signs),
Can send chat messages,
Can respond to certain player messages,
Can deflect projectiles,
Can spawn at the foot of your bed while you sleep,
Has multiple OTHER ambient events, other than the block placing,
Attacks don't ignore armour,
Special cave variant,
Certain variants can play different spawn sounds,
Adds a special damage type for it's attacks,
Added a paranoia effect,
Different variants have a different way to initate chase,
Added very subtle structures,
Added some particles,
Added multiple sounds,
Jumpscare slows the player down,
Jumpscare doesn't fall through the ground,
Bed spawn doesn't spawn inside a wall in 1.19.2, like the knocker does,
Attacks have a cooldown,
as i've said, this is NOT all the differences, but as you can see, theres a lot more differences.
31 differences off the top of my head, to 6 similarities
so no, it isn't the same mod.
call it better or worse, don't care, but it is NOT the same.
