Essential TerraFirmaCraft (TFC)

Curious about TerraFirmaCraft and want to play a curated modpack with just TFC? This modpack is for you!

Designed for the beginner TerraFirmaCraft player in 1.18/1.20, planned as a modpack that someone can just recommend for new arrivals to the TFC TNG community.

I've selected a few content addons and my favorite Quality of Play mods, while not adding shaders or large content changes.

1.21 version coming when enough addons are out.

TerraFirmaCraft addons:

Barrels 2012 - Allows large items and lanterns in the back slot

Water Flasks - leather and iron flasks with durability

TFCGyres-OreHints - adds hint rocks for all mineral veins, buffs veins a lot in 1.18, just adds mountain iron in 1.20

QoL(Quality of Life) Mods:

Jade - for in-game display of items, critical in TFC to know what you're looking at!

JEI - all kinds of recipe questions

Xaero's mini-map and world map - because making over 100 waypoints is not unusual in TFC gameplay

Controlling - because custom keybinds make me happy

Performance Mods:

Embeddium/Extras/Dynamic Lights - Improves graphical performance and adds dynamic lighting

Ferrite Core - Improves memory usage

Dependencies:

Patchouli - for TFC, provides the in-inventory book

Curios API - for back slot access

Version specific notes:

In 1.18, rock layer sizes are essentially the same as in 1.7, which are too big for single-player or small server use. I added my TFCGyres-RockLayerSize mod to decrease rock layer sizes by 50%.

In 1.20, worldgen and rock layer sizes are very different, and quite acceptable, so this is not needed.

1.20 adds the "Searchables" library mod, a required dependency for Controlling. It allows keybind searching by mod, which is super helpful!

1.20 also adds the ModernFix performance mod for several bugfixes and enhancements.
