Why ESM? I've seen my fair share of modpacks that are based, on mcsm. But they all suck. And I'm not exaggerating, they all suck. All they do is throw crackers wither storm mod in with a bunch of other mods. They don't even try to capture the mcsm theme. I once played a modpack that was "mcsm" themed and you could throw a baby in the furnace and have a whole family

It's not perfect. But it's as close as perfect can be compared to any other mcsm modpack out there.

Why use the preset world? Because it’s curated. Endercon, Boomtown, Soren’s Fortress, Gabriel’s Temple, and more are placed in their perfect spots. For the best pacing and quest flow, download the preset world and pre-generate chunks. Your adventure will run smoother and feel like the story it’s meant to be.

A soulfilled blurb — why ESM matters

ESM isn’t a straightforward story with a script. It’s a sandbox designed to surprise, challenge, and spark curiosity. Imagine curated landmarks, dramatic scenes, and modifications that improve combat, movement, and progression in interesting ways, but you’re never forced onto just one path. You’ll discover areas that invite exploration, threats that require smart responses, and systems that make your choices about tools, resources, and risks really matter.

This pack gives you tools and stakes, not directions. You earn progression; battles feel like movies; dimensions and biomes have hidden surprises and tough consequences. The story you experience is the one you create. It’s dynamic, sometimes messy, and often memorable. Play alone or with friends, follow the preset world for the right pacing, prepare your sections, and let the world unfold. You control what happens next.

Nitty Gritty (Read this, seriously)

Recommended RAM: 8-10 GB allocated to Minecraft for optimal singleplayer. For servers you can get away with less.

Pre-generate chunks: Do this. Especially if you’re playing on a server or using the preset world. Pregenerate with a chunk pregenerator on the server side to avoid stutter and world generation lag.

Multiplayer: Fully playable on servers. However, I strongly recommend using a Wabbanode server for the most stable experience.

Bugs: ESM is curated but not perfect. Some mod interactions can cause bugs that we cannot control. We report these issues and provide patches as updates come out. If you encounter a serious issue, please post in Discord with crash logs. We will assess the situation and fix what we can.

Featured Mods — what they do for the story

Cracker’s Witherstorm Mod — The Witherstorm is a frightening monster that consumes entire biomes. It’s not just a boss; it's a major event. It requires hard choices and delivers a thrilling experience.

Sculk Horde — Adds a slow, tense threat that spreads and alters encounters. It’s moody, unpredictable, and ideal for late-night base defense.

End Remastered & True Ending (Ender Dragon Overhaul) — The End becomes a multi-act finale. Expect redesigned ender eyes, new exploration mechanics, and a dragon fight that feels like a true final boss, not just a health bar.

Aether & Twilight Forest — Two alternate realms act as story islands. They are airy, mysterious, and filled with unique loot, puzzles, and bosses. They lean towards the MCSM feeling of “other worlds with purpose.”

Infinite Dimensions — Think of this as the hallway to a portal. It has endless dimensional spaces that allow us to showcase oddities, unique ecosystems, and unexpected stories.

Tetra & Project MMO (PMMO) — Tetra allows you to upgrade tools gradually. PMMO offers valuable XP, levels, and class-style progression. Together, they prevent tools from becoming old and give you reasons to continue improving.

Epic Fight + Extensions — Combat that feels like it belongs in a movie. Epic Fight combines the character of MCSM fights with Minecraft's physics. Extensions like Epic Fight Super Golem offer unique behaviors for NPCs and bosses.

Parcool Mod — Movement and parkour are essential for exploration and some quests. They make getting around exciting without feeling unfair.

Hardmode Ores & Progression — Ores are rarer. Smelting yields are limited. Progression through armor and tool tiers requires focus. This makes resources and story rewards valuable.

Performance Guide

Here is a list of mods that you can add and remove to increase performance without breaking the modpack:

SERVER: Remove Epic Fight and all of it's related mods (I recommend replacing it with the Mo' Bends Port)

CLIENT: Remove subtle effects, add RenderScale (Use the config), remove Distant Horizons, remove Skin Layers 3D, remove Poof Sounds, remove What Are They Up To (Watut), remove Immersive UI, remove Item Boarders, remove Blur.
