You have been sent out by a corporation to examine and clean up a large mining site in the Oregon Mountains by the name of Coal Creek Basin.

The site was operational, until an incident in 1972 and ever since then, it has been abandoned and left to rot.
Your mission is to investigate, examine this area and clean up debris / fix up any damaged structures.

What you didn't know when you took this job offer, is that the same thing that brought this site's doom 50 years ago is now after you...

Your journey begins outside the facility gates, next to the car you arrived in.
Inside its trunk you have packed some supplies.

You examine the Reception building, take a look around and decide to squeeze through the pried open door of the gate.

Further ahead lies a Signpost pointing to the different locations found at this site.
You decide to head to the right and examine the Logging site and Coal Refinement first.

Going past the rotting log piles and unfinished buildings and over bridges, you spot something on the ground: an unusually large Antler fragment... it's crooked and twisted... not like any Antler you saw before...

You finally arrive at Coal Refinement as the sun already starts setting... the building is old and overgrown and is surrounded by lots of long dead machinery. Inside you find a Signal Flare and a Hunting Knife impaled into one of the tables... strange... but will definetly be useful, you think to yourself...

At sunrise, you decide to progress onward and head back to that first Signpost.
Your next destination is the Storage Site.
Your voyage leads you through plains of old tree stumps and through a tunnel of a large tree, before you arrive at noon.
The Storage Barn stands tall in a forest clearing... a large logpile, Iron cage and coal basket surround it.

Inside you find resources, another flare and the names of some workers who hung their clothes here.

At sunset, you decide to go out and examine the area around storage and you come across a strange trail leading away. It almost looks hidden, like it wasn't meant to be accessed on purpose... and yet you still decide to follow it.

Following the trail, you find a corpse of a cow... and further ahead a Graveyard... with the same names you found in the storage barn...

The next day you decide to go on and come across Worker Housing resting on the lakeshore... each torn apart as if something dashed right through and all was left behind in a rush... this is where the workers used to live... and now it's nothing more than ruins...

The path leads you back into the forest, where among the trees sits a large dug out Quarry... A hut stands on its edge and conveyor belts lead down into the now flooded abyss.

The trail of concrete keeps on going through the woods, leading you across a bridge to the other side of the lake. The path twists and turns through the harsh and overgrown terrain and you notice... it begins to fade slowly... eventually the path dissappears entirely on the shoreline.

You find a large barren clearing, with dead trees towering over a flooded coastline.
In the distance, a massive Coal Pile starts fading into view... and behind it, you make out the silhouette of a huge Cooling tower... The Powerplant stands tall as you approach it... small Worker Cabins surround it and wide tracks lead away and inside the mountain.

Following the tracks, you spot where they head: a large cavity in the side of the mountain.

Finally you stand infront of it: This is the Mine Entrance.
Unlit corridors, candles long extinguished and rusty tracks heading into the darkness...

However as you traverse deeper, the air shifts from humid and still to a strong smell of death...
You turn the corner and are now inside the main chamber of the Mine as you notice it:

Countless fresh animal corpses and bone piles scattered everywhere...
This isn't an ordinary mine anymore... This is the lair of the beast.

This project was created specifically for the Antlers of Hunger mod and modpack and though being set in the same world as the 2021 film “Antlers” is still an original and independent story serving as a extension of the lore and world of the source material.
