Description

Inspired by Born In Chaos, Aquamirae, and of course, the Cave Dweller
Fathomless Crimson is a horror mod that introduces The Undaunted into minecraft, with a hefty focus on practicality and actual gameplay, prioritising the minecraft playthrough over cheap jumpscares and instant deaths. Through new mobs, armor and equipment can be crafted to aid the player's journey, giving a purpose and reason to engage with these mobs.
The Undaunted is not a god. It is not invincible. You can kill it, and you can learn its moveset.
Features (TLDR)
- A boatload of events, ranging from subtle to extreme
- The Undaunted, which functions off an accumilated chance system (Check the mobs section)
- Equipment and Loot that can be crafted with drops
- Of course, because every mod has to have this for some reason - Lore found in structures
- A new faction which aids the Undaunted in its hunt
- Animated attacks and movesets
- Completely compatible with servers
- Anti-cheese mechanics. The Undaunted can swim and teleport with a massive delay to restart the chase.
- Configurable event quantity (Bigger value = Less events and longer cooldowns)
- also hallucinations can be completely disabled via common configs
"At this point, just make your horror mob a bossfight."
-Boba Fett with a propeller hat and a dull-colored ginger cat
Mobs implemented by Fathomless Crimson have animated attacks and movesets, emphasizing the trust-worthy shield that you've used against other mobs, and have proven so useful. However, your shield does not gaurantee your safety. Attacks with purple flashes will break through your block, simply unblock to avoid getting block broken. Purple Attacks will not deal damage if you are not blocking.
Requires Geckolib and Nexus Layer in order to function. If you are experiencing animation issues, disable entity shadows in your shader settings.
You are allowed to distribute Fathomless Crimson to 3rd party websites, as long as a link to the curseforge page is provided. As for modpacks, idk go ahead lmao
Reviews/Videos

Equipment includes items and weapons, which can be obtained through structures and defeating mobs. Weapons added by Fathomless Crimson have stylized tooltips based on Obscuria's Aquamirae!
WEAPONS
Crimson Dagger, and Sanguine Blade

A dagger made by using a ritualistic upgrade on an iron sword alongside a crimson ingot. Conducts Bleed for 10 seconds, and Wither for 5 seconds. Bleed can randomly stop healing and afflict damage. An alternative to a diamond sword, deals 6 damage and has 2.1 attack speed. If Better Combat is installed, it has the Dagger moveset. (shocking)

If you have a Sanguine Necklace, you can use it to upgrade the Crimson Dagger into a Sanguine Blade, swapping out its immediate DOT and lifesteal in exchange for damage and absorption lifesteal. Each slash inflicts a stacking Sundering effect which lowers the target's damage output and increases damage taken.
Staff of Malice

A magic staff based off the Bishop's very own. Right click to cast a combustive blood orb, which explodes after 1 second or when hitting the GROUND. The blood orb inflicts Bleeding II for 6 seconds and deals 15 damage. If Better Combat is installed, it has the Staff moveset. (you probably shouldnt use it as a melee though)
Crimson / Warfront Set

An Alternative to diamond armor, boasting better armor toughness at the cost of armor. When worn as a full set, each hit taken within 8 seconds of eachother grants the Warfront buff, which increases your armor and armor toughness by 15%, capping out at 90%. Crafted by using ritualistic upgrades on iron armor alongside a crimson ingot.

The Crimson helmet can be upgraded with a Crude Talisman, turning into the Herald's Helmet. Inherits all the buffs from the crimson helmet, on top of an extra gimick focusing on offense. Has more armor than netherite.
The Emissary

A large, lumbering greatsword. Has weak stats, but can be customized through the use of Upgrade Cores, which grant buffs to The Emissary. By default, The Emissary has an AOE swing with a short cooldown. This swing deals a percentage of the player's attack damage. Has the Claymore moveset.

There are currently 4 upgrades for The Emissary. The Vainglory Core, the Soul Edge Core, the Frost Core, and the Inferno Core. Check out their buffs and mechanics ingame! (can you guess what the inferno and frost core does? it's truly a mystery....)
The Disk of Alternation

A reassigned disk imbued with the magic of a forgotten god. Upon right click, Arbiters will rise from the ground and strike anything caught in-between them, afflicting them with Deluge and depleting their oxygen supply. Affixable and has 4 upgrades.

Can be crafted with an Empty Disk dropped by priests, gold, and alternating flames found in structures. The Arbiters attack after a brief delay, and can be blockable, unless the disk is upgraded with Ruin.
The Aspect Seeker

The Aspect Seeker is yet another dagger, now able to be affixed with upgrade cores. The Aspect Seeker is primarily a mobility weapon, so you probably shouldn't use it as a main weapon, but as a sidegrade to pull out when needed. Crafted with resources dropped by the Archbishop. Will probably get retextured... ts does not look good💔
The Relic Weapons
there's like 4 of them im not writing an essay on this, they're found in certain structures. their tooltips ingame are already informative enough lmao go look

The Undaunted, Courier, and Faceless

The Undaunted is a bipedal deer, tainted by crimson and pure hatred. The main big bad in this mod. It functions of an accumilated chance system - Events can lower this chance, making it more common for the Undaunted to appear.
Before the Undaunted spawns, anticipation may occur. A red message will appear in your action bar, alerting you of the hunt. However, this is not reliable, as it sometimes doesn't result in a hunt.
Hallucinations can occur, which lower your accumilated chance even more.
By default, accumilated chance is set to 1 in 20000. 4 events with 8 variants can happen through accumilated chance, but events that are unrelated to the the Undaunted itself is not affected by accumilated chance.
The Faceless, is yet another generic steve monster. It disguises itself as wildlife, and once approached, it will attack and deal heavy damage. Disguised wildlife are usually faceless, and uncontrollably twitch, from a distance, they are indistinguishable.
Do not trust any wildlife until you see their face.
The Courier acts as a messanger for the new faction. It will not fight you directly, instead, they simply keep tabs on you. Basically the lore reason on how this mindless beast is able to coordinate attacks. Sometimes, you may hear its whistles.
The Bishop, Accursed, and Executioners

The Bishop is a new spellcasting illager, found in structures or in raids. Covered in ritualistic markings, they can summon possessed daggers in an array, which home in on the player. With their staff, they are able to summon hell beams to erupt from the ground and deal massive damage. Drops the Elixer of Hatred needed to craft The Emissary and Staff of Malice.
The Accursed are a fodder band of mindless, reanimated corpses which wield crude daggers of crimson. They are the primary guard of structures. Their detection range is absolutely pathetic. Drops Fetid Hands and faded dust.
The Executioners are the secondary guard of structures, only found in Observatories. They are able to fly and rush you at a moderate speed, dealing good damage and inflicting bleed. However, when they attack, they themselves take 3 damage. 5 HP.
The Cultists of Crimson

An honorable band of faithful and devoted cultists that guard structures. They all drop speckled fabric and crimson dust.
The Cultist is a melee warrior that fights one-by-one, using a combination of block breakers and slashes. Has 25 HP and 10 armor, and rarely drops a Sanguine Necklace which grants a 15% damage resistance. The Sanguine Necklace can also be used to make the Sanguine Blade, an upgrade to the Crimson Dagger.
The Priest is a supporting spellcaster able to utilize homing daggers and heal spells. Has 20 HP and 3 armor. Rarely drops an Empty Disk required to make the Disk of Alternation.
The Herald is a miniboss brandishing a crimson glaive. The Herald's moveset is comprised of mix-ups and slow, winding attacks that break the rythymn of the fight. Drops a Crude Talisman, which can be used to make the Herald's Helmet
The Archbishop

The Archbishop is a boss that specializes in applying pressure. Has many moves which range from close-range to long-range allowing him to apply pressure, whenever, wherever. Found in the Archbishop's Tower, and drops valuable loot needed to craft the Aspect Seeker.
Upon reaching half-hp, the Archbishop will perform immolation and enter his desperation phase. During this phase, the Archbishop has slight lifesteal and amped up attacks. This phase is temporary, and he takes DOT during desperation.
