Description

Alshanex's Familiars mod is an addon for the Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks mod for minecraft Forge 1.20.1 and NeoForge 1.21, which adds new mobs called "Familiars", which can be found scattered around the world. These familiars can be tamed using Arcane Essence, which will make them follow you in your adventures and fight at your side using powerful spells.

Some of the current implemented familiars

Mage Familiar:

Specialized in lightning magic, has the ability to conduct the power of lightning into you, granting charge effect. He also plays around with creepers charging them.

Can be found rarely in high mountain biomes, studying the laws of lightnings.

Can be healed using Lightning Bottles.

 

Archmage Familiar:

Specialized in basic magic from different schools, has the ability to transform spell scrolls in a pedestal into random ones of same rarity, with a little chance of being higher rarity. He also has the ability to scare enderman and block shulker bullets.

Can be found in end biomes inside his structure, studying the unknown parts of the universe.

Can be healed using Arcane Cloth.

 

Necromancer Familiar:

Specialized in blood magic and summoning spells, has the ability to use his necromancy powers to control nearby undeads making them attack eachother, he can also transform normal skeletons into wither skeletons.

Can be found in Soul Sand Valley biome, usually in graveyards studying the principles of death.

Can be healed using Bones or Blood Vials

 

Summoner Familiar:

Specialized in eldritch magic, has gained the ability of deactivating nearby sculk shriekers thanks to the results of his studies, he also gives night vision to owner and prevents darkness and blindness effect from affecting the owner.

Can be found in Ancient Cities, seeking for the knowledge of the ancients in his lab.

Can be healed using Lost Knowledge Fragments.

 

Hunter Familiar:

Specialized in attacking with arrows, has the ability to use his developed smell sense to find the entities that drop the item you right click him with, and he will also attack enemies targeting you even if you didn't notice them.

Can be found in forest biomes, lurking in search of preys, and sometimes they group in campsites.

Can be healed using the same food given to wolves.

 

Druid Familiar:

Specialized in nature magic, has the ability to make all nearby drops grow with his nature knowledge and breed nearby animals.

Can be found in forests, sharing the goods nature can give with others.

Can be healed using Saplings.

 

Illusionist Familiar:

Specialized in evocation magic, has the ability to make the owner invisible when he is low life, and he can also deploy a decoy that taunts nearby enemies and exploding. These little pranksters will also take gold nuggets and emeralds dropped on the floor when you are not watching!

They naturally spawn around the world disguised as other familiars, use the Mirror of Truth to make them reveal themselves. (Note: even if their disguises are perfect, habits are hard to supress)

Can be healed using gold nuggets.

 

Plague Doctor Familiar:

Specialized in venom magic, he makes himself and his owner immune to poison, and when attacked he throws a lingering posion potion. He also make himself and his owner deal more damage to posioned enemies.

To get him, you will need to craft a Poison Vial and give it to a tamed Druid Familiar.

Can be healed using Venomous Spider Fangs.

 

Scorcher Familiar:

Specialized in fire magic, he allows himself and his owner to be fire immune, and when attacked sets enemies on fire for 5 seconds.

Can be found wandering around in the Nether.

Can be healed using Blaze Powder.

 

Cleric Familiar:

Specialized in holy magic, being able to support other friendly entities. He also has the ability to cure zombie villagers.

To get him, you will need to cast the cleanse spell near an untamed necromancer familiar.

Can be healed using Divine Pearls.

 

Bard Familiar:

Specialized in sound magic, also has the ability to play music for his owner.

To get him, you'll need to cast a sound spell with the Harp staff near an untamed familiar.

Can be healed with Music Discs.

 

Origin Island

To find the Origin Island, you need to follow some steps:
1. Use the sniffer to find Crystal Berries.
2. Feed the Crystal Berries to your tamed familiars making them vaguely remember where they come from, which will make them drop Memory Fragments.
3. Use the Memory Fragments to locate the Origin Island, similar to using Ender Eyes to locate the Stronghold.
