0.70.4 is live NOW! The new version is now dependent on our core mod tbsfbsp, if you run a server or update an existing world please make backups and add this dependency before loading a save to avoid problems.
Ever played a Minecraft dungeon that just felt empty somehow, even if it was beautifully build, had amazing loot and tough fights. A dungeon that had you rushing through straight to the main loot room, avoiding as much of it as possible? Thats what we want to adress with this mod.
Getting Started:
In villages a new villager, the Adventurer, can be found. The Adventurer trades useful Items. When leveling him up, he will sell you explorer maps to the dungeons, that are added by this mod.
If you are unlucky and don't find an Adventurer. You can always use the Pedestal added by this mod to give any villager the Adventurer profession.
Content:
This mod is heavily enspired by old Hollywood adventure movies we aim to create a dungeon experience focused on exploring the dungeon istead of endless mob spam, on traps, puzzles, jump and runs, secrets and obviously loot thats actually worth going through all of this.
We try to achieve this by:
1. Making dungeon generation as unpredictable as possible.
2. Building upon existing mechanics in a vanilla friendly way to create unique and hopefully unexpected traps.
3. Embracing the fact that the player can build everywhere and destroy eveything and designing the dungeon around it instead of just ignoring or simply disabling these fundamental features of Minecraft.
4. Enviromental and written lore to create a sense of immersion.
5. Adding artifact items that have interesting mechanics and can only be obtained by completing our dungeons.
6. Making general dungeon loot matter, by making drops useful for further progressing in the same dungeon.
The latest release 0.70.3 includes 2 new artifact items, fixes a lot of bugs and significantly improves Snowy City gen time.
Am I allowed to use this in a modpack? Absolutely, thats what it was made for :)
For those who want to test the artifact items in creative mode, here is a command to get a note that unlocks the item desciption: /give <player> uniquedungeons:ancient_note{"uniquedungeons.artifact":"<item-id>"}
