📖 About

⛰️ Dynamic Surroundings: Remastered immerses you in over 800 dynamic sound effects and ambient sounds, completely transforming the atmosphere of Minecraft — all through the power of a resource pack, no mods required.

🚨 This is an unofficial fork of OreCruncher's Dynamic Surroundings mod, converted into a fully standalone, customizable sound resource pack.

✅ Features

  • 800+ sound effects in total
  • Biome-dependent ambient sounds — Jungle, Forest, Ocean, Beach, Desert, Deep Dark, Caves & Cliffs, and more
  • Unique ambient sounds for mobs, tied to their natural spawn environments
  • Utility sound effects — item pickup, bow & crossbow, combat, footsteps, running, wandering, explosions, and more
  • Realistic weather audio — rain, thunder, storms, wind, and more
  • A richer, more immersive overall soundscape
  • Smooth fade-in and fade-out transitions on all sounds

🤝 Credits & Licenses

All assets follow the MIT License, GNU License, and CC0

  • Dynamic Surroundings — original mod by OreCruncher
  • Presence Footsteps — by S0llace
  • AmbientSounds 5 — by CreativeMD
  • Additional sound effects sourced from YouTube and royalty-free sound libraries

📌 Notes

  • Avoid spawning large numbers of mobs nearby — the pack is designed around natural mob density, and overcrowding will cause audio to pile up
  • Best experienced with headphones 🎧
  • This pack works by replacing Minecraft's default sounds through the resource pack system — no mod logic involved
  • Designed for players who want a more immersive, atmospheric audio experience

🖇️ Compatibility

Client / Mod Supported Versions OptiFabric / OptiFine 1.20.6 and below Fabric (Sodium + Iris) All versions Forge (Rubidium / Embeddium / Oculus) All versions Bedrock / Pocket Edition ✅ Vanilla ❌ Snapshots ❌

Supported Minecraft versions: 1.13 to latest release (Bedrock port included)

❓ FAQ- Contact me via discord: justmelain

Why do I hear weird layering or overlapping sounds? This is a known limitation of resource packs — sounds can't be triggered and managed with the same precision as a full mod. Some layering is expected behavior.

Does it work exactly like the original mod? Not fully, but it comes close — and in some ways goes further. It's a resource pack at its core, so there are inherent limitations, but a lot of care went into replicating the experience.

How do I customize this pack? Open sounds.json and navigate to sounds → "Remastered". That folder contains everything you can modify. I recommend Audacity for audio editing.

I can't hear any sounds. Make sure this pack is at the top of your resource pack list — above other packs and mod resources. Also double-check your in-game volume settings.

The pack isn't working for me. Most likely a sounds.json conflict with another pack or mod. Check your load order and look for overlapping assets.

Can I use this in a modpack or on a server? Yes — just make sure to credit the pack and the original mod authors.

Does it work on Fabric, Forge, or other clients? Yes, it's compatible with any Minecraft client since it's a resource pack.

There are too many overlapping sounds. Run /stopsounds @a to immediately clear all playing sounds. You can also reduce ambient sound volume in your settings.
