Mob Head Collection [DataPack]

About

The Mob Heads Collection mod adds heads for every mob and their variants, which can drop when a player kills a mob, with configurable drop chances. Each head has a unique sound when placed on a note block. The mod also tracks collected heads with an advancement system, turning collecting into its own challenge.

By bringing together the thrill of collection and the creative possibilities of decoration, Mob Heads Collection appeals to both completionists and builders. The advancement system not only rewards persistent players but also provides goals beyond basic gameplay.

Features

◽️ Adds heads for all mobs and their variants.

◽️ Each head makes a unique sound when placed on a note block.

◽️ Heads can drop as loot when a mob is killed by a player, which allows collectors to obtain unique mob heads throughout the game.

◽️ The drop chance is fully configurable, so you can adjust the frequency and rarity of drops to match your preferred difficulty level (In development).

◽️ Custom chat notifications appear when a head drops (In development).

◽️ Сollected heads are tracked through an advancement system (In development).

◽️ Vanilla mob heads are not changed – they only drop by vanilla methods.

Installation

Installing a Datapack:

◽️ Launch Minecraft and select your world (new: "More" → "Data Packs" / existing: "Edit" → "Open World Folder" → datapacks).

◽️ Add the datapack (.zip or folder) to the appropriate place.

◽️ Activate it (new: move right; existing: /reload or F3+T).

◽️ Finish creating or loading the world.

Datapack only works with cheats enabled! Check: /datapack list enabled.

Installing a Mod:

◽️ Download the .jar mod matching your minecraft version.

◽️ Make sure there are no conflicts with datapacks or other mods.

◽️ Place the .jar into the mods folder (create it if needed) in the root directory.

◽️ Restart the minecraft and check if the mod works (e.g., with /mods).

Always back up your server.
