Welcome to Thaumic Industries, an expert magic modpack with 140+ functionnal mods.

A deeply refined magic-focused expert pack centered on Thaumcraft 4 and over 140 integrated mods. Experience reworked progression, balanced difficulty, and carefully tuned crafting for seasoned players. Explore the depths of Thaumaturgy alongside Botania, Blood Magic, and Witchery, with smarter mobs, powerful rituals, and a world that truly rewards mastery.

🔧 Installation instructions & game setup : 

This modpack, as showed in the title, is able to run with newer versions of Java (17/21/25/26 ...)
We feature Java 25 as the main version for bug-testing, but any other version should work*.

To begin with, launch your game as usual, using a recent build of Java 8 ;
Upon launching, the game will open a white window, asking you in which Java version you want to run the game. You'll need to install Java from here, then to install wherever you want.
Once it is installed, remember where you installed it !
Go back to the white window, click the Add button in the top right corner, and go where you just installed your new Java 25. In there, enter the folder named bin, then selected javaw.exe.

Then select the maximum of RAM you want to allocate through the slider (best is around 6 to 8, don't go higher than 10 Gigs, it can bring issues with your garbage collector), then press Run !

Each time you'll want to run the game, you'll just have to press Run on that white window, and it shall launch. You can also add multiple Java versions/profiles through the same process.

-  Additionnal info for reporting issues & bugs :

Any issue related to the modpack will be considered worth looking at if you're able to reproduce it with Java 25 installed ; on the other hand, any issue related to shaders WILL BE IGNORED.
Shaders are present as a feature, but are incompatible with lot of features from BetterFoliage and other mods. BetterFoliage can be quickly disabled in game with F8, then setting to false.

Please also note that the modpack has been mainly made & tested through CurseForge launcher.
Launching the modpack with Java 25 and another launcher than CurseForge can cause some graphical issues ; be sure that the issue is also present when you launch it with CurseForge before reporting it.
Support for other launchers (Prism, ...) may be super limited ; through we do have some Discord members that succeed in installing and launching the pack with Prism, they still suffer a small amount of graphical issues.

NB : The game runs with 8GB of RAM installed, but can also run smoothly with 4GB ! You should allocate maximum 8 to 10GB RAM for the game to work properly. The server runs smoothly with 3 to 4GB of RAM allocated.
