Description

Enjoy a modded vanila(ish)+ style PvP teams modpack where you can play a miniaturized version of those minecraft civilization youtube videos with your friends! See the setting up the server section below for info on setting this up for your own server (curseforge server pack uploading is currently broken)

 

Features

  • Coordinate with your friends and taunt your enemies with proximity chat
  • Chose a species (or not!) via the Origins mod, now with modified/custom origins to get special boons and banes for your character
  • Specialize your talents in either automation or magic with the Create mod and Ars Ars Nouveau 
  • Become a vampire, werewolf, or vampire hunter and contest your friends for the best faction
  • Have your friend save from death in your downed state or prevent it altogether extra hearts from Spice of Life
  • Build your kingdom via Minecolonies and decorate it with Macaw's mods and Supplementaries
  • Release your inner Chef with Farmer's Delight and Alcocraft+ while also selling to other players via Wares

 

The Rules of the Game

  • Set up a safe region of the map where players are safe and can partake in commerce. At the same time you'll probably want to set up a world border to keep everyone close together
  • Each player on the scoreboard will have their kills listed, so if the server breaks out into into open conflict they could be considered the most powerful; regardless players should announce their attacks with a goat horn to give other teams a fair chance to fight back 
  • Turn on hardcore mode! It's probably best to forgive bans every day or so to punish death, but keep letting people play. I'd also recommend turning on Keep Inventory as well

 

Customized/Enhanced Origins Abilities

Toggle Active Abilities with the g button (default). Italicized abilties are added via myself and the custom datapack so they wouldn't work without it being setup. See the Setting up the server section for more info.

 

Human 

  • The default Minecraft experience

 

Avian

The Avian race has lost the ability to fly a long time ago. Now these peaceful creatures can be seen gliding from one place to another

  • You slow fall to to the ground unless you shift, in which case you fall normally
  • Your wings always slow you before you hit the ground, negating all fall damage from your quick landings
  • Modifiers to your walking speed also apply while you're airborne
  • You are a noticably quicker on foot than others
  • Your rehab to deal with your seed addiction didn't really help much
  • When something hits you you can't help but loose a couple feathers. They'll regrow don't worry.
  • You can't digest any meat

 

Arachnid

  • [Active Ability] You are able to climb up any kind of wall
  • You aren't slowed down by cobwebs. When you hit an enemy in melee they gut stuck in cobweb for a while. Non-arthoropods stuck in cobweb will be sensed by you
  • You are able to craft cobwebs via two string in a shapeless crafting recipe
  • Your diet is restricted to only meat
  • You have 3 hearts less of health
  • Shifting with an empty hand allows you to produce string for your webs
  • Your ancestors milenia of living in caves has given you the ability to see in pitch black spaces

 

Elytrian

Often flying around in the winds, Elytrians can trace their proud heritage back to the Ender Dragon, and as such are the only intelligent creatures who can truely fly

  • You are the only origin that can obtain elytra wings and since they are a part of you do not require an armor slot to wear
  • You take more damage from falling and flying into blocks but also deal more damage while hitting targets while falling via your wings
  • Your thick reptile blood makes your natural regeneration speed quite slow; however your slow metabolism means that you don't consume hunger for this healing
  • Your dragon descendancy allows you to easily collect the coveted dragon's breath by blowing into an empty bottle while shifting

 

Feline

  • Your cat eyes give you permanent night vision
  • Creepers are scared of you and will only explode if you attack them first
  • You never take fall damage, no matter from which height you fall
  • You have 1 less heart of health less than humans

 

Enderman

  • [Active Ability] You can throw an ender pearl (which deals no damage) which allows you to teleport
  • You receive damage over time when in contact with water
  • Players wearing pumpkins are completely invisible to you, even their armor and equipment
  • You can longer reach and can reach blocks and entities farther away 

 

Blazeborn

  • You receive damage over time when in contact with water
  • Due to your hot body, venom burns up, giving you immunty to hunger and poison status effects
  • You are immune to all types of fire damage

 

Merling

  • You can breathe both on land and water
  • [Active Ability] Your underwater vision is perfect
  • You break blocks underwater as fast as on land
  • Your underwater swim speed is increased
  • When underwater, you do not sink to the ground unless you want to

 

Shulk

  • When you sneak your shulker shell protects you, negating 80% of damage but you can't move, jump, or see much when turtling. This also happens to save you from small falls
  • You exhaust much quicker than others this requiring you to eat more
  • The way your hands are formed provides no way of holding a shield upright
  • [ Active Ability] You have acess to an additonal 9 solds of inventory, which you keep on death

 

Setting Up a Server

Though this modpack is originally designed for a small private server a few people, I'll give you everything you need to get your server up and running the same.

Setting People's Extra Origin Abilities in Game

The For the origins datapack features to work you'll need to enable the extra origins abilities by manually toggling each player's scoreboard variables via in game commands so the datapack knows who is what origin. The commands you'll need to use are as follows:

  • /scoreboard objectives list - this will list all the objectives you'll need to reference
  • /scoreboard players set [insert desired player name] isFeline 1 - this command will set the player you insert to the special datapack abilties of the feline origin. Using the commands you referenced with the first command you change change this to different origins ex: isAvian. Note that not all origins in the pack have variables and therefore special datapack abilities that I've added
  • /scoreboard players reset [insert desired player name] isFeline - use this command if you want to set a variable back to nothing for a player if you made a mistake or need to change their origin

 

The map our server uses is just a vanilla map, which I made sure included a vampire biome and a taiga biome for werewolves. If you are curious, the seed is -4659582902834179614 with a ~1200 world border centered on -4332, -3825 (though I recommend if you do use this seed you keep players from entering the end because the world border will one shot them after entering the portal. WorldEdit is included as a mod however if you want to make a custom map or features for your own experience.
