Emerald Enhancements

Mod

by FireDragon1

This mod adds new Emerald Crafting Items - Tools, Armour, and special abilities associated with them! This has a very Vanilla-style feel to it (on purpose), and turns Emeralds into true Late-Game items! Villagers now use "Trading Gems"

Welcome to Emerald Enhancements!

Here's a breakdown of the changes:

- Emerald Sword:

  • Durability: 1761 (+200 from Diamond!)
  • Attack Damage: 8 (+1 from Diamond!)
  • Attack Speed: 1.6
  • When you kill a Villager, instead of dying, it turns into a Zombie Villager! Great for those easy discounts, right?
  • When you kill a Zombie Villager (not regular Zombies), they have a 10% chance to drop a single Emerald!
  • Looting affects this number as usual, so here's the table for that:

Looting 0: 0.10 → 10 %

Looting I: 0.10 + 0.05 = 0.15 → 15 %

Looting II: 0.10 + 0.10 = 0.20 → 20 %

Looting III: 0.10 + 0.15 = 0.25 → 25 %

  • Killing ANY mob in the game (that normally drops XP) will net you a 1.5x increase in XP orbs!

- Emerald Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, and Hoe:

  • Durability: 1761 (+200 from Diamond!)
  • Attack Damage:
    • Axe: 10 (+1 from Diamond!)
    • Pickaxe: 6 (+1 from Diamond!)
    • Shovel: 6.5 (+1 from Diamond!)
    • Hoe: 2 (+1 from Diamond!)
  • Attack Speed:
    • Axe: 1.3 (+.3 from Diamond!)
    • Pickaxe: 1.2
    • Shovel: 1
    • Hoe: 5 (+1 from Diamond!)
  •  All of these tools have these special abilities:

    • Fortune by default! Here's the table for how that works (on Emerald Tools):

Fortune 0: treated as Fortune I → average 1.333 drops per block → +33.3 %
Fortune I: treated as Fortune II → average 1.75 drops per block → +75 %
Fortune II: treated as Fortune III → average 2.20 drops per block → +120 %
Fortune III: treated as Fortune IV → average ≈2.667 drops per block → +166.7 %

    • The Hoe is affected by this also, so break your crops with it!
    • +1 Extra XP orb from any block that normally would drop XP orb!

- Emerald Armour:

  • Durability:
    • Helmet: 563 (+200 from Diamond!)
    • Chestplate: 728 (+200 from Diamond!)
    • Leggings: 695 (+200 from Diamond!)
    • Boots: 629 (+200 from Diamond!)
  • Armour Toughness: 3 for all (+1 from Diamond!)
  • Knockback Resistance: 1 (Diamond doesnt have this!)
  • Special Ability:
    • When you are wearing all 4 Emerald Armour pieces, you can press Shift (or whatever keybind for you is Crouch) to see a green outline on Ores in your field of view! This will NOT allow for X-Ray, just allow you to see potentially missed Ores in your view frame only - the outline is hidden behind blocks. Press Crouch again to disable.

- World Changes:

  • Villagers:
    • Instead of using Emeralds for Trading, Villagers give players "Trading Gems" - these look and act exactly like current Emeralds, however, they are not capable of crafting the Emerald Items added by this mod
    • Villagers will accept Emeralds and/or Trading Gems as payments, but will only give the player Trading Gems
  • World:
    • No direct changes, but the Villager changes allow/force Emerald Sets to be sought out solely through mining (and I think treasure loot is Emeralds too!) This makes it much more difficult to craft the set, and should make it a nice end-game treat (or hardworker treat!) to help balance out the effects given!

Lastly, make sure to install this Client-Side AND Server-Side!

See the Images tab for images, but here is a small video that I couldn't place under the Images tab!

Here you can see the process of killing a Villager with an Emerald Sword converts it into a Zombie Villager! I also get really lucky and the Zombie Villager dropped an Emerald!
