Sign Builder is a cross-platform Minecraft mod (Forge, NeoForge & Fabric) that allows players to seamlessly build, color, animate, and materialize custom 3D signs. Fully balanced for Survival mode, this mod provides highly detailed characters, a dynamic painting system, advanced glowing neon mechanics with real light emission, interactive Redstone buttons, hold-to-activate controls & PIN security keypads, automatic 2x2 and towering 3x3 multi-blocks, double-sided modular backplates, 45-degree diagonal placement, a dedicated Sign Press machine, and an expansive 40-material system!

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Architectury API is a required dependency to run this mod on Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric! (Fabric users also need the Fabric API).

✨ Features

• Real-Time 3D Ghost Preview: Take the guesswork out of building! Holding a configured Sign Blueprint displays a translucent 3D hologram directly in the world before placing blocks. It dynamically turns green for valid placements and red if obstructed by existing terrain or blocks, with full directional accuracy across floors, walls, and ceilings for 1x1, 2x2, and giant 3x3 structures.
• Vertical, Diagonal & Multi-Block Placement: Blueprints support Y-axis locked vertical placement for clean pillar-style signs, 45-degree diagonal angles for 1x1 signs, and standard horizontal layouts. Effortlessly cycle through 1x1 Normal, 2x2 Multi-Block, and 3x3 Billboard displays directly in the GUI or via Shift + Right-Click, complete with an optional automatic backplate applicator!
• Giant 2x2 & 3x3 Multi-Block Signs: Need massive signage? Placing four matching sign blocks in a 2x2 square merges them into a 2.0x display, while a 3x3 grid merges into a towering 3.0x giant blocks! Features synchronized multi-block destruction, scaled drops, dynamic collision hitboxes, off-screen FOV protection, master-dummy data sync, and multi-block backplates across wall, floor, and ceiling orientations.
• Double-Sided Modular Backplates: Give your signs a clean backdrop or craft free-standing signs! Mount signs onto pre-placed backplates or snap a backplate directly onto existing single or multi-block signs. Signs can be placed on both the front and back faces of a backplate! Front and back surfaces can be independently textured with materials and dyed. Safely detach backplates with an empty hand (Shift + Right-Click) to refund materials while preserving customizations.
• Centered Precision & Diagonal Freedom: All sign blocks and backplates are geometrically centered on block grids for clean aesthetics. 1x1 signs and backplates support 45-degree diagonal angles on floors and ceilings to fit any architectural style.
• Interactive Buttons & Redstone Automation: Turn your signs into functional control panels! Using the Wrench, configure any sign or symbol into a Momentary Button (Pulse), a Toggle Switch (Lever), or continuous Hold-to-Activate control:
  • Hold-to-Activate Control: Power output stays active continuously while holding interaction, powered by robust client/server held-state synchronization.
  • Directional Output: Emits full Redstone power (signal strength 15) strictly from the back attachment face.
  • Material-Aware Timing: Wooden signs stay pressed for 1.5 seconds (30 ticks), while stone/metal materials reset after 1.0 second (20 ticks), complete with unique mechanical sound profiles.
  • Word-Wide Synchronization: Configure letters to press independently or trigger the entire connected word simultaneously via flood-fill logic.
  • Ranged Triggering: Shoot wall buttons with arrows, tridents, or snowballs to activate them from a distance!
  • Analog Comparator Readout: Placing a Redstone Comparator behind number blocks (0–9) reads their literal numerical value (signal strength 0–9)!
• PIN Keypad Security System: Turn words and symbol arrays into secret passcode locks!
  • Secure Keypads: Sequence-lock a connected word. Pressed letters latch inward and stay locked until the code is completed.

• The Wrench (Custom Lighting & Automation): A dual-tabbed configuration tool with refined scaling and centered inputs:
  • Lighting Tab & Custom Behaviors: Choose dynamic presets (Normal, Blink, Flicker, Wave, Breathing, Disco, Audio Sync, Low Power) or build fully custom light behaviors directly in-game! Configure triggers based on timed cycles, proximity detection, day/night schedules, or eye contact. 🛠️ How to Use

🏗️ Crafting & Building

1. Craft a Sign Press to manufacture your desired letters, numbers, symbols, and backplates.
2. (Optional) Place a Backplate on a wall, floor, or ceiling first, or snap one directly onto an existing sign. You can even attach another sign block to the back face of a backplate!
3. Placing 4 matching signs in a 2x2 square creates a 2x2 Multi-Block; placing 9 in a 3x3 square forms a 3x3 Billboard!
4. 1x1 signs and backplates can be placed in 45-degree diagonal rotations on horizontal surfaces.
5. To remove a backplate, Shift + Right-Click it with an empty hand to refund materials cleanly.
6. Grab a Sign Blueprint and right-click in the air to open the GUI:
   • Type text or click on-screen symbol buttons.
   • Toggle Direction (Horizontal vs. Vertical), Size (1x1, 2x2, 3x3), and Auto-Backplate mode.
   • Tip: Sneak + Right-Click in the air with the Blueprint to cycle sizes and directions on the fly.
7. Aim at any surface: observe the real-time translucent 3D ghost preview (Green = buildable, Red = obstructed). Right-click to place!
8. Made a mistake? Re-open the Blueprint and click Undo to revert the placement and refund your items.

🎨 Painting & Materializing

1. Right-click the air with a Paint Brush to open the customization menu.
2. Choose a dye preset, enter a custom Hex code, select Rainbow Mode, or flip through the 40 material textures.
3. Right-click any Sign Builder block (or backplate face) to apply your style.

💡 Illuminating & Automating (The Wrench)

1. Right-click the air with a Wrench to open the management menu:
   • Light Modes Tab: Choose ambient presets or build Custom Light Behaviors (timed cycles, proximity, day/night schedules, eye contact) with customizable ranges and filters.
   • Button & Redstone Tab: Convert signs into pulse buttons, toggle switches, hold-to-activate controls, or PIN keypads.
2. Right-click a placed sign block to apply your configuration.
3. Tip: Enable Smart Fill (Shift + Right-Click in the air with tool in hand) to apply wrench configurations or paint across an entire connected word in one click!

🎒 Survival Mode & Crafting Guide

Sign Builder is perfectly balanced for Survival worlds with realistic, proportional loot logic!

• Dynamic Loot Drops: Breaking a sign normally drops its constituent parts: 3x White Concrete, 1x Base Material Item (e.g., Oak Planks, Gold Ingot, Diamond), and 1x Glowstone Dust (if glowing). Multi-block structures scale proportionally: 2x2s refund 4x materials, and 3x3 billboards refund 9x materials!
• Silk Touch Persistence: Mining a sign or backplate with a Silk Touch tool retains all custom NBT data (colors, materials, glowing states, PIN codes, and wrench configurations) directly on the dropped item for exact redeployment!
• Blueprint Economy: The Blueprint consumes exact blocks and backplates directly from your inventory. Tools consume durability upon use.
