NotPack - Performance

What is NotPack?

NotPack is a template modpack for Forge 1.20.1 and Neoforge 1.21.1 that contains the best performance mods on the platform for those versions. "Best" meaning that they provide the largest performance impact without sacrificing gameplay or being incompatible with other mods. It also includes some tweaks to optimize the pack further, such as enabling Dynamic Resoures and Faster Item Rendering in the ModernFix mixin config. It is meant to be used by either building off this modpack or dragging and dropping the modlist + configs into an existing modpack (don't do the latter unless you're able to read logs to be able to debug issues in case they arise!).

How does this differ from other "Performance Modpacks" or "Template Modpacks"?

NotPack only includes performance mods and configurations, without any of the bells and whisles of any QoL / Aesthetic mods. There are no HUD or map or shader mods included in this. The more that "opinionated" mods/configurations are put into a template modpack, the more that a potential modpack developer would need to change to it to fit their needs, so I've opted to have ONLY objectively good performance mods in this pack, leaving further opinionated configuration up to the user.

Is this compatible with Vanilla Minecraft?

No. This is solely meant to be used as a modpack base, you are likely to run into issues if you try to either connect to a vanilla server using this or host a Forge server intended to be joinable by vanilla clients. I'd recommend looking for a Fabric performance modpack for that purpose instead of using this, as it is a vanilla compatible launcher.

None required or encouraged, use this however you'd like ^_^
