Past Perfect is a Forge 1.20.1 modpack that strives to celebrate the history of Minecraft modding while embracing its modern era. The result? A 'kitchen sink' style sandbox that serves to uphold nostalgia without losing the spark that drives innovation and creativity. Our goal is to deliver an experience that encompasses (as much as possible) classic mods - their continuations, their rewrites, and their reimaginings - with guides, tweaks, quests, and more, while keeping in touch with what makes today's titans so appealing. 

Please enjoy our homage to the past - where factories were humming next to ritual altars, where dungeons and bosses dotted the landscape, and where there was always a new horizon to explore, with new stories to unfold. Each addition has been chosen for depth, stability, and cross-compatibility, creating a modded experience that feels both familiar and fresh.

The world itself is as rich and varied as the systems that fill it. Whether delving into a dungeon, defending against a siege, or stumbling into a rift that shouldn’t exist, exploration always promises something new.

• YUNG’s Better Series, When Dungeons Arise, and Integrated Dungeons & Structures overhaul caves, ruins, strongholds, and more with huge variety and handcrafted detail.
• Classic dimensions return through The Twilight Forest and Dimensional Doors, offering portals to worlds both whimsical and unsettling.
• New, dangerous enemies from Born in Chaos and Creeper Overhaul expand the overworld’s challenges, while Waystones and Map Atlases help adventurers chart their discoveries.
• Biomes from Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone and Biomes O’ Plenty combine with TerraBlender for a seamless, natural landscape that feels vast but cohesive.
• Ad Astra and Stargate Journey offer a stepping stone to the stars and beyond.

In Progress & Upcoming Features

Past Perfect is an active work in progress. This means that what you see now is only the start - we plan on expanding into several more features as we approach the 1.0 release.

• Questlines & Progression:
  A full questline to guide players through the progress of each mod, with side-quests and rewards.
• Custom Recipes & Balance Tweaks:
  Streamlined crafting and rebalanced progression to unify overlapping materials, reduce clutter, and tie tech and magic systems together more cohesively.
• Custom Story & Lore Integration:
  Narrative threads woven through exploration and questing — subtle worldbuilding, ancient texts, and hints toward a larger mystery connecting the modpack’s many worlds.
• Additional Systems Under Consideration:
  Enhanced achievements, optional difficulty scaling, and in-game documentation to help players learn through discovery rather than dependence on external guides.

These features will roll out gradually, focusing on cohesion, replayability, and a stronger sense of purpose within Past Perfect.
