Description
What's This Modpack Thing Do?
Basically, this is a modpack meant to expand on lots of the lacking parts of the base game while feeling somewhat vanilla-ish. I would say it's vanilla+, but it also kind of takes inspiration from other games such as Terraria or Valheim to do its own thing as well.
The main goal of it tho is to try and have the player be engaged in Minecraft in less annoying ways, as well as swapping out the boring grind for a grind that is a bit more interesting.
I started this out just to fix some grievances I had with vanilla Minecraft and began working on this modpack around a month or two ago (at the time of writing). But now that Matcha Flavoured released which looks like (and hopefully) does basically the same thing as this modpack but better, I'm just gonna qucikly wrap up the core parts of this modpack and check out that modpack myself 'w'
i probably won't work on this anymore, so feel free to modify this how you like (though i would appreciate crediting me if my original assets are used)
Key Changes
- Progression has been greatly reworked, and Golden Armor and Tools are now in between Iron and Diamond. Also check Advancements for a rough idea of what to do next!
- Once a player enters the Nether, the entities inhabiting the world will change a little bit
- Ore and Cave generation has been changed drastically
- Villager Trading has been reworked so that Copper Ingots are the main currency, and Emeralds act as the rarer currency that offers more valueable trades
- Hunger and Food Rework. No more hunger, food heals directly. Each food, depending on its archetype, also have an associated buff. Additionally, food recipes that are more difficult to craft will grant higher tiers of Rejuvenation, a new buff that grants increased max HP
- Experience is gone and Enchanting has been reworked. In order to enchant, you now have to craft the Enchanted Books. To compensate for this adventure-intensive method, Enchantment levels have been lowered and now scale faster.
- A few new Enchantments and Items
- Exploration is a lot easier, and Cartographers sell the Antique Compass, which is used to craft various Locator Maps for structures. Antique Compasses can also be found in valueable overworld chests. (Warden Horns are also sold by the Cartographer)
- A ridiculous amount of Crafting Recipe, Item, Loot Table, and Block rebalances/changes
- Some rebalances to existing mobs, as well as many mob variants spawning in place of regular mobs
- Bosses are now mildly more interesting
- Many, many changes or additions too numerous to list
I left my datapack unintegrated into my custom mod to allow people to edit what they want directly :D
