Description

Create: Beyond the Skies is a sprawling, automation-first modpack built around the Create mod and its vast addon ecosystem. If you've ever wanted to spend hundreds of hours designing contraptions, riding physics-simulated airships, running a culinary empire, or exploring radically overhauled worlds — this is that pack. More than 50 Create-adjacent addons layer on top of the base mod, touching every dimension of gameplay: electricity, trains, jet propulsion, hyper-speed travel, cannon warfare, and far more.
Automation & Machines
The heart of the pack is Create 6.0 — the mechanical engineering mod that turns gears, belts, shafts, and fluid pipes into a living, breathing factory. Every machine is fully animated and physically simulated in 3D. Build a windmill to generate rotation, a water wheel for reliable power, or an intricate steam engine for high-throughput industrial output.
On top of Create, the pack ships an extraordinary array of official and community addons:
Power & Energy
- Create: Crafts & Additions — bridges Create's rotational power with Forge Energy (RF/FE): the Alternator converts rotation into FE, the Electric Motor converts FE back into rotation, and the Tesla Coil charges electric items placed beneath it (and zaps nearby mobs when activated via redstone).
- Create: New Age — adds large copper coil generators, electric motors, nuclear reactors (multiblock structures that generate heat for Create's boiler system), and solar panels that also supply heat to the boiler system.
- Create: Diesel Generators — combustion engines running on petrochemical fuel, with a full petroleum processing chain via Create: Petrolpark (distillation, cracking, blending).
- Create: Encased — expands the casing and shaft system with new structural blocks and connectors.
- Create: Transmission — adds a Transmission Chain block that connects conveyor belts at angles and corners without gearboxes, simplifying compact belt layouts.
- Create: Ender Transmission — wireless transfer of rotation, items, and fluids across unlimited distance and dimensions via linked transmitter blocks.
- Create: CROWNS (Creating Rotation Operated With Nuclear Science) — nuclear thermal power generation for Create. Build a reactor-style closed-loop thermal cycle: heat water into steam, drive turbines to produce large quantities of Stress Units, compress the steam back to water with a Compressor, and dissipate waste heat in a Cooling Tower. Intended for high-SU demands that boiler-based generation alone can't meet.
Production & Processing
- Create: Mechanical Spawner and Create: Mob Spawners — both automate mob farms with mechanical precision. Mechanical Spawner uses biome-based spawning driven by rotational power with optional fluid inputs; Mob Spawners requires capturing a specific mob first with its Soul Catcher tool, then spawns that type using rotational force.
- Create: Mechanical Chicken — a kinetic block that generates eggs using rotational power plus a fluid input (plant oil by default) as a consumed ingredient; fluid type, output rate, and stress impact are all configurable.
- Create: Deep Dark — adds deep-dark-themed materials (Echo Ingots, Sculk Flour, Molten Echo fluid), a full armor set and weapon, and dozens of Create-integrated recipes centred on Echo Shards and Sculk blocks from Ancient Cities.
- Create: Compressed — compress raw crushed ores and similar materials into space-saving high-density blocks via Mechanical Press or crafting table.
- Create: Cobblestone — rotation-powered stone generators for cobblestone, stone, basalt, deepslate, and Create's own stone variants (Limestone, Scoria); output scales with RPM.
- Create: Ore Excavation — adds hidden infinite ore veins attached to world chunks (not physical blocks); a Drilling Machine multiblock powered by rotational force extracts from those veins indefinitely, with an Ore Vein Finder item to locate productive chunks.
- Create: Metallurgy — expanded metals and alloys via a dedicated Foundry system (Industrial Crucible, Foundry Unit, Foundry Basin) for casting Aluminium, Lead, Nickel, Silver, Tin, and alloys like Invar, Electrum, Bronze, and Void Steel.
- Create: Recycling — break down tools, armor, and building blocks back into raw materials using Crushing Wheels; introduces diamond shards, netherite shards, and feather fluff as intermediate outputs.
- Create: Compact Experience — adds a compressed experience block that stacks Create's XP nuggets into a denser, space-saving form, craftable via Mechanical Press or crafting table.
- Create: Enchantment Industry — full liquid XP system; disenchant items into Liquid Experience, automate enchanting via the Blaze Enchanter (uses a book template + liquid XP), repair items via a spout, copy books and enchanted books with the Printer, and automate anvil work with the Blaze Forger.
- Create: Enchantable Machinery — lets you apply standard enchantments (Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch, and more) directly to Create machines like drills, saws, and harvesters; enchanted machines display a glint, and Engineer's Goggles show what enchantments a machine carries.
- Create: Stuff 'N Additions — adds a suite of powered equipment: brass jetpack, brass exoskeleton (grants Strength or Haste), portable brass drill, and a nozzle fan that pushes entities; also adds new crafting methods for items like chainmail and coral.
- Create: Aquatic Ambitions — adds Conduit Channeling as a new fan processing type using an active conduit (channeling flint yields prismarine shards, revives dead coral, and more), along with a Conduit Cage block for streamlined setups and prismarine, coral, and renewable copper automation.
Logistics & Storage
- Create: Factory Logistics — adds fluid Jars: fluid containers that integrate with Create's package logistics network (Frogports, conveyor belts) for transporting liquids like items.
- Create: Logistics — adds the Item Silo, a compact storage container that holds one item type in quantities over 3,200, usable directly from the player's inventory.
- Create: Mobile Packages — wraps items into portable packages that can travel on moving contraptions, delivered by robotic Robo Bees between Robo Bee Ports.
- Create: Compatible Storage — adds block tags to modded storage containers (from Quark, Iron Chests, Farmer's Delight, Handcrafted, and others) so they function as inventories on Create contraptions; Sophisticated Storage has its own separate dedicated integration mod.
- Create: Power Loader — keeps chunks loaded for autonomous contraptions without player presence; the Andesite Chunk Loader covers 1 chunk and the Brass Chunk Loader is configurable up to 5×5; both work on ground, trains, and moving contraptions.
- Create: Pattern Schematics — adds Pattern Schematics, a schematic type that can be mounted on trains or gantry carriages to infinitely tile and build repeating structures using the Schematicannon.
- Create: Wrapped — a holiday-themed Create addon that adds an automatable Wrapping Station, colored Wrapping Paper, and giftable Presents for multiplayer fun.
- Sophisticated Backpacks + Sophisticated Storage — tiered backpacks and storage barrels/drawers with upgrade slots (filter, magnet, feeding, auto-smelting), each with dedicated Create integration mods.
- Tom's Simple Storage — a simple, low-latency storage network accessible from a single terminal.
- Ender Storage — colour-coded ender chests and tanks for cross-dimensional item and fluid transfer.
Building & Contraptions
- Create: Copycats+ — hugely expands the copycat system with new shapes: slabs, stairs, fences, walls, beams, ladders, panels, panes, doors (including sliding and folding), and even mechanical elements like shafts and cogwheels.
- Create: Framed — adds colored and tinted variants of Create's Framed Glass and Tiled Glass, plus matching Framed Doors and Trapdoors — a cosmetic glass expansion for Create builds.
- Create: Deco — decorative Create-themed blocks: display boards, seats, fuel tanks, and structural steel pieces.
- Create: Connected — connected textures and visual improvements for Create blocks.
- Create: More Wrenchables — extends wrench interaction to more blocks from other mods.
- Create: Misc & Things — a collection of Create-themed gadgets including a Spout Gun, Train Station Speaker, Traffic Signs, sticky launchers, Nozzle Torch, Mending Rune, and Magnifying Glass.
- Create: Sound of Steam — adds dozens of playable pipe organ stop blocks (Viola, Vox Celeste, Trompette, Subbass, and more), expanding on Create's existing Steam Whistle aesthetic; supports MIDI playback via a Tracker Bar and punched paper rolls.
- Multi Piston — a configurable block-mover that picks up blocks from a defined input direction and deposits them in a set output direction, with adjustable range (up to 10 blocks) and speed; developed by the MineColonies team for automated construction.
- Extra Gauges — adds redstone logic and arithmetic gauge blocks (Logic, Integer, Comparator, Counter, String, and Passive variants) for advanced automation signal processing and contraption control circuits.
- Create: Ultimate Factory — adds 30 balanced automation recipes making hard-to-obtain materials like diamonds renewable and automatable via compacting processes.
Transport & Exploration
Movement is a first-class feature in this pack — not just fast travel, but genuinely mechanical transport.
Trains
Steam 'n' Rails extends Create's native train system with new track variants (wood-type tracks, monorail), semaphore signals, Conductor mobs, train coupling/decoupling, and a rich set of decorative railway blocks (Locometal casing, buffer blocks, bogie steps). Bells & Whistles adds cosmetic and functional details to train builds: headlights, metro-style casing and panel blocks, grab bars, bogie steps, station platform blocks, and train pilot blocks that push entities off the tracks. Create: Escalated contributes mechanical escalators and people movers for stations and transit hubs.
Physics-Based Vehicles (Valkyrien Skies)
Valkyrien Skies 2 is a physics engine that powers movable structures built from regular blocks — ships, airships, and more — with real-time buoyancy and collision. VS2 is the underlying physics API; the actual ship-building tools and vehicle types come from addon mods.
- Eureka! Ships! — adds the Ship Helm, Anchors, and Balloons — the components needed to assemble your own block-built ships and airships into physics objects; place a Ship Helm on your build and shift-right-click to bring it to life.
- VS: Clockwork — the full Create-to-Valkyrien Skies bridge, letting Create's rotational power network drive physics-simulated aircraft, airships, helicopters, submarines, and ships with real lift, drag, and momentum. Use the Physics Infuser and Wander Wand to designate a structure as a physics entity, then wire up Propeller Bearings, Blade Controllers, Wings, Flaps, and Gyros — all powered by standard Create shafts and stress units. The Command Chair lets you pilot the finished vehicle with WASD, with up to five programmable directional actions per key routing rotational force into thrust and control surfaces. Progression is gated behind Wanderlite, a rare deepslate and End ore whose crystals are processed into the Wanderlite Matrices required for most Clockwork blocks.
- Create: Interactive — enhances Create contraptions with support for block entities while in motion, stacked contraptions, improved player/entity collision, and one-way collision with Valkyrien Skies ships.
- Creating Space — a Create addon for rocket construction and space travel; build rockets from Create contraptions, craft spacesuits, and travel to new dimensions including the Moon.
- Valkyrien Logistics — adds Position, Linear Velocity, and Angular Velocity telemetry gauge blocks that read real-time physics data from VS ships; usable with Create's display system for on-ship instrumentation.
- Create: Hypertube — rotation-powered hypertubes for fast player transit across large distances; the Hypertube Entrance draws from Create's kinetic network (cogwheels/stress), and is VS-compatible.
Air & Road
- Immersive Aircraft — rideable aircraft across multiple types: Biplane, Gyrodyne (no fuel required), Quadrocopter, Airship, Cargo Airship, Warship, and Bamboo Hopper (a pontoon-equipped aircraft that can land safely on water); most types require fuel.
- Create: Ornithopter Glider — a mechanical glider crafted using the Mechanical Crafter; press Space to charge and flap for a boost — a steampunk alternative to the Elytra.
- Create: Kart Racing — a coal-fuelled kart vehicle for fast traversal, available in 16 dye colors and craftable via Create processes.
- Mopeds — rideable mopeds as a mid-tier road vehicle.
- Create: Propulsion — a full propulsion and vehicle-control suite for Create + VS2 builds: propellers (wooden for air, copper for water, andesite hybrid), thrusters, hot air balloon components (dyeable envelopes, burners, pumps), a Stirling engine, optical sensors, and redstone magnets.

- Farmer's Structures — windmills, market stalls, and farmsteads scattered throughout the world.
- Savage & Ravage — expands Illager encounters with new mob types (Executioner, Griefer, Iceologer, Trickster) and a revamped raid system, plus enhancements to the vanilla Pillager Outpost.
Modern Minecraft (Vanilla Backport)
Vanilla Backport by ItsBlackGear backports features from six consecutive Java Edition updates — from Java 1.20.3 all the way up to Java 1.21.6 (Chase the Skies) — to Minecraft 1.20.1, keeping everything as faithful to vanilla as possible. It consolidates what were previously several separate backport mods (Nether Backport, Caves & Cliffs Backport, The Wild Backport, and others) into a single coherent package covering over 17 million CurseForge downloads.
New Biome: The Pale Garden
The Pale Garden (backported from Java 1.21.4) is a deeply unsettling grey forest where all ambient music stops on entry and no animals spawn. It generates with Pale Oak trees — a full new wood type with all standard variants — draped in Pale Hanging Moss, floored with Pale Moss, and dotted with Eyeblossoms: a flower that opens at night, attracts and poisons bees, and brews different Suspicious Stew effects depending on whether it is open or closed.
Inside the pale oak trees grow Creaking Hearts — when placed between two same-axis pale oak logs and active at night, a Creaking Heart spawns The Creaking: a hostile tree-shaped mob that is completely immune to all damage while any player is looking at it. Damage it by destroying its linked Creaking Heart; attacking the Creaking causes it to deposit Resin Clumps on nearby logs. Resin Clumps smelt into Resin Bricks, used for decorative construction and as an armor trim material.
New Flora & World Decoration
Throughout the rest of the world, Vanilla Backport scatters new decorative features:
- Leaf Litter — ground cover in forests and dark forests; up to four pieces per block, usable as fuel
- Wildflowers — multi-flower blocks in birch forests and meadows; craft into yellow dye
- Firefly Bush — glows with firefly particles in darkness; found near water in swamps and badlands
- Cactus Flower — generates on cacti in deserts; crafts pink dye

- 9 Wolf Variants — each spawning in a specific biome (Pale, Woods, Ashen, Black, Chestnut, Rusty, Spotted, Striped, Snowy); wolf sounds are assigned from 7 variants independently of appearance
- Happy Ghast — a large passive flying mount that carries up to 4 players simultaneously; grown from a Dried Ghast block (found near Nether Fossils in Soul Sand Valleys, or crafted from 8 Ghast Tears + Soul Sand) by waterlogging it over ~20 minutes; equipped with a dyeable Harness and tetherable with a lead
- Ghastling — the baby stage of the Happy Ghast; fed snowballs to mature; follows passive animals
- Cold, Temperate & Warm animal variants — cows, pigs, and chickens have biome-temperature-based visual variants; cold chickens lay Blue Eggs (hatching cold chicks), warm chickens lay Brown Eggs; sheep wool colour is temperature-influenced
New Items & Mechanics
- Wolf Armor — crafted from 6 Armadillo Scutes; equippable on tamed adult wolves by their owner; 11 armor points; dyeable and removable with Shears
